It's not every camp host who greets you with a handgun on his hip and a knife in his hand (we booked very last minute and he had been busy butchering a goat when we arrived)! But Raymond couldn't be a nicer, more generous host. We were the first family to camp on his ranch, and he and his ranch manager Brandi gave us the VIP treatment. We were able to park our camper on his upper field where the alpaca and donkeys (and the zonkey!) roam freely. Brandi gave us fresh eggs from their chickens, and Raymond brought us hot coffee in the morning then proceeded to introduce us to all the animals on the ranch -- goats, sheep, llamas, pigs, emus, chickens, etc, and of course the dogs! Then his son took our kids on a little off-road excursion. There's also a small vintage cowboy town on the property complete with a real saloon serving whiskey, tequila and beer. We got way more than we bargained for on this unique visit! Thank you Raymond and Brandi!
