Park your camper van, tent trailer, cute little pull-along, or small RV on our farm and ranch in Modoc County, California ("Where the West Still Lives") and make yourself at home. Locavore Farms is in on the outskirts, if you can call them that, of Fort Bidwell, near the intersection of California, Nevada, and Oregon. The land is pasture and sagebrush with a year-round creek running through and a small spring-fed pond, in a very small town bordering an Indian reservation and public (BLM) lands.
You'll check in with your hosts who will show the short route to your lovely spot not too far from the creek. Potable well water and a wonderful composting toilet (named "Throney") are available to you, and in season the U-Pick farm and farm animals can provide you with both food and entertainment. The "back 40" and beyond offer hiking with amazing views, and there is easy access to nearby farms and wild areas, including lakes, creeks, and the wide open spaces of the Basin and Range.

The vibe at Lupine Loop Car Camping
If you stayed here and have some insider info for us, let us know!
Rancho Love Joy Peace is a beautiful piece of land and a prefect environment to come and hang out and camp with friends.
Fully equipped with private campsites, a creek to take a dip in on a hot day, a beautiful farm, and a communal amphitheater where movie nights are played. There are solar lights to guide you where ever you need to navigate at night ( like the compost toilet 'Throney') and fun little hiking trails up into the hills to give you a beautiful view of the grounds.
Rancho Love Joy Peace has nothing but good vibes. A place you don't feel obligated or pressured to mingle with the other campers or farmers but also a great place to meet and hang out with kindred sprits.
Definitely a great place for a much needed recharge from everyday life.
Lovely spot, great people. Laurie is fun and relxaxed and great to talk to. For those that want to help out on the farm, there's always work to be done, and no pressure to do it. Will definitely return!
This is place is fantastic. It's rustic camping with a twist. The host (Krystal) is fantastic, really sweet and fun to talk to. The place itself is a hidden gem tucked away from any city. One thing to remember is that the closest town is a bit of a drive away, so as long as you are prepare well with food & ice, you'll have a blast.
This was wonderful. Its not as far as it looks and is well worth the diversion. We loved falling asleep to the sounds of the sweet creek. The hot shower was fabulous! Lorie and Crystal were helpful and accomidating. We loved the way it was developed!!! Great spot!
