FYI: We are accepting reservations for our Glamp sites for the winter, but our Tent Camping will close for the winter on Sept. 30th.
Our site is a 10-acre homestead and working organic farm close to epic beaches and wide open nature in Bolinas. We're surrounded by preserved agricultural property and Pt. Reyes National Seashore. You’ll love our land because of the bounty of organic produce from our on-site farm, our cute sheep and llamas, abundant bird and wildlife, nearby hiking trails, surf spots and live music at Smiley's Saloon. Hipcamp guests are an integral part of our farmstead: you help us keep small-scale organic farming alive and rent affordable for our resident team who live in 4 houses on the property (houses are visible from camp, but we love Hipcampers!).
For our Hipcamp guests, we have three 15-ft x 12-ft wall tent cabins, each perched on redwood platforms overlooking a wild ravine full of trees and wildlife. It almost feels like you're sleeping in a tree-house. The tents are equipped with lights, rugs, chairs, a small table, real beds, and mattresses. At this time we can't have electric heaters in the tents, but I have lots of extra blankets, just ask!
Cabin Beds: Sleeps up to 4 adults: 2 singles (push together to make king) and a bunk bed (2 singles). Mattress, bottom sheet and blankets included. Bring a sleeping bag, pillow and towel.
Group Buyouts: It's super fun to rent out all 4 camping areas for your group: 3 Tent Cabins and the BYO Tent Space. 16 people max including tent cabins and BYO. For group rentals, please send me a message.
KIDS: at this time, we can't host young children under 12 as we are a working farm with related hazards such as electric fences, poison oak, open ponds and heavy equipment.
LINENS: Please bring a sleeping bag, towel, and pillow. The beds have bottom sheets and a blanket. The tents all have access to a shared outdoor redwood bath house with two composting toilets and two hot showers. If you can't bring your own, let me know and I can provide for a fee.
BREAKFAST & COFFEE: A light breakfast of muffins or granola, hot coffee and tea will be available from 8:30 am - 10 am.
COOKING/FOOD STORAGE: We have a modest 8x12 outdoor camp kitchen shed with fridge, small freezer, coffee maker, cooking tools, eating utensils, storage and prep space. Bring a cooler for storing food & bev if you're cooking multiple meals as the fridge is shared by all and can run short on space. We have 2 charcoal grills for cooking. Please bring charcoal if you want to grill.
CAMPFIRES: We have 2 communal fire rings with seating (chairs and stumps). Bring wood and paper. You are also welcome to gather wood and kindling from the property, but it's tough to see at night. No fires outside of these 2 rings.
PETS: trained, well behaved dogs are OK, but must be kept on a leash and attended at all times. We have free ranging chickens, ducks, cats, sheep and a llama that don't like to be chased (or attacked) by unfamiliar doggies.
GAMES & LEISURE: We have a meadow that is great for hanging out, sunbathing, or playing cornhole and bocce.
NEARBY: Once you've reserved your tent cabin, I'll email you my go-to list of nearby activities, restaurants, hikes and rentals.
RESTAURANTS & STORES: There are three restaurants and a coffee stand in town about 1.5 miles away. General Store and Grocery close at 6pm.
Don't forget: layers of clothing (it can get cold and damp at night), closed-toe shoes or boots, headlamp or flashlight, ice, secure cooler, sleeping bag, towel, pillow, reusable water bottle, Tecnu soap or wipes for poison oak encounters and sunscreen.
We're close to the Palomarin Trailhead (3 miles), Pt. Reyes Bird Observatory (3 miles), downtown Bolinas (1.5 miles), Commonweal Retreat Center (1.8 miles) and RCA Beach (2 miles).

Wow! Big Mesa Farmstead is absolutely amazing. You can not beat the proximity to SF, yet far away feel. From the city, Bolinas is just an hour north. Ashly is such a great host and has put an enormous amount of care and effort into maintaining the property. It is very well suited for guests you will for sure have everything you need. The bath house is so great and the outdoor showers are great as the morning sunlight shines through the boards making tiny rainbows. There is also a really, really amazing community kitchen where you will have the ability to cook whatever your heart desires.
The area is really great as well. Bolinas is a very popular surf location and the weather was great so there was fun crowd in town. If you are lucky, Ashley might have some fresh fruit or maybe even a little guac to share. Smileys, the local bar is also super fun. We ended up there for a great show and it was just the icing on the cake of a truly spectacular weekend. I could not speak more highly of Ashley and her property. You will love it! Go <3

Ashley was the sweetest and most accommodating host, her farm is perfect and so close to SF. The tents were clean and spacious and the property was well maintained. Cannot wait to go back!!!
What an awesome place to stay! Ashley, was a super helpful host and we had just everything we needed and more. I would recommend this place to anybody - and we can't wait to return again!

So glad I stumbled across this gem! The set up is awesome-- there are four tents set up on their own wooden platforms tucked into the trees, the bathhouse was cute and clean (the compost toilets seem like regular toilets, not port-o-potty style like I'm used to when camping-- these are much better and everything is covered) and the open-air showers were probably the best part of my trip! I took a glorious hot shower as the sun was setting. The outdoor kitchen is legit and like a restaurant style kitchen in the middle of a field. It was so nice to be able to cook legit meals and have a sink to do dishes in afterward. Inside the tent was no frills-- just a foam mattress and some rugs and a little table. So this set up is the perfect combo of a camping feel with the luxuries of a hot shower and kitchen. Also, Ashley left a little bowl of strawberries and tomatoes from the farm, so those were delightful. And the little town is absolutely adorable.
Ashley was an awesome host! The property is beautiful, the tents are perfect for 2-4 and the outdoor kitchen was unreal. 10/10 would recommend.
We had a fantastic time! The farm is beautiful. They let us harvest fresh greens from the field for dinner. The outdoor bathroom and kitchen setup is the nicest I've ever seen. Super friendly folk and just a short 5 minute drive to the ocean. Highly recommend!
Bliss! Perfect get away from the extreme inland Heat, but oddly lucky to catch heatwave at the beach. This place nailed it! Simple, sweet, & special. Amazing Outdoor Kitchen, beautiful garden, & lovely People. We were the only ones there so Camp tent #4 was perfect by the bathrooms otherwise maybe #1 near Lama would have been the best. I like that there only 4 tents. This place is Magic. I would definitely come back. Midweek was ideal. It would be fun to have a gathering as there is a nice yoga deck stage and sort of Amphitheater and banquet tables. So appreciative that we were able to bring our two pups who were respectful of the free-range ducks. Thank you Ashley♡
Our stay was amazing! We forgot jackets, because the heat in SF threw us way off, but Ashley was super sweet and gave us a few of her own. The tents are super spacious with comfy mattresses. The bathroom and showers are super clean and the kitchen is huge and fully equipped - you can find everything from pots and pans to spices to beer on tap :). Definitely recommend!
