Purty Yurty was a wonderful treasure tucked away in the deserts by Joshua Tree. The yurt was well equipped with all desert glamping necessities from a large (very comfortable) bed to chairs, heater, fan unit, firepit, and so much more. The yurt was well insulated and kept warm enough during the cold winter night! Though if you are one to get cold easily, I would suggest an extra blanket or to turn the heating unit on (propane and unit provided)!
The property itself was a large cul-de-sac, which had plenty of space outside of the yurt to setup any outdoor games. Beware of driving on the far side of the yurt as the sand is soft and the host warned against cars possibly getting stuck! The firepit was about 100 yards away from the yurt and two camp chairs were provided by the host. Entrance to the yurt itself required a call to the property manager, who lives across the street and was available to answer any and all questions.
In terms of things to do around, the Noah Purifoy Foundation was an amazing site to visit and Joshua Tree National Park was within very close proximity as well. There was not a whole lot to explore and see directly around the site, but it was a nice relaxing evening and day in the desert. The roads to the yurt were a bit hard to navigate and rough with desert terrain, but manageable in the small sedan we drove. Be prepared to drive a bit of a way on the dirt path!
Overall the stay was wonderfully pleasant and I would most definitely recommend! Especially with the notes that suggested that there was going to be eventual expansion with more amenities in the future!
Cheers!

Purty Yurty was a delightful glamping experience! It was a cold weekend. Snow covered the mountains and stayed in shaded areas all weekend. The little heater in Purty did the trick. The bed and bedding were snug and warm. Be sure to follow Ione's directions very carefully. I arrived at night. It is very, very dark and the stars were amazing. I never would have found it without Ione's terrific directions. I highly recommend Purty Yurty for a glamping trip!
