Solliden was everything I was looking for and more. We were looking for a weekend getaway from the hustle of the city and this place was a perfect way to slow down and relax. The property gives you so many different options to enjoy yourself, from the pond, to different levels of landscape offering their own views. I'd certainly book again.
Huge open space with ridiculous views. Could play a game of football if we wanted. Plenty of room to wander round and hiking trails. Cloverdale nearby is a great small town (hit Plank Coffee and Dahlia and Sage for groceries). I’ll definitely be coming back with a bigger group.
The property was GORGEOUS. And our host was incredibly accommodating. Highly, highly recommended. Good to note that the lower sites are a bit of a hike in (not a far walk, but steep grade)—best to pack as such. We had packed for car camping and needed to take a couple trips.
Five of us (and a dog) stayed one night at one of the larger sites on the property. Everything was as described except for the views which were way prettier than we had expected! They’re also well enough dispersed so we didn’t really hear the other sites and definitely couldn’t see them. We ran into one of the hosts Chris and he was incredibly friendly and made us feel right at home. Being the height of fire season we knew campfires were a no-go but we were all surprised by how great the stargazing was as an alternative. In our site there wasn’t a ton of tree coverage (great views) so if you plan to be there more than a day it might be worth bringing an awning or other shade structure to keep things cool. Overall great spot - about 20-25min from the 101 and Cloverdale and not too much farther from some good swimming holes. Highly recommended!
It took us longer then expected to get up the 5+ miles up pine mountain road (single lane road) from cloverdal, but it was well worth it. Site is huge and the land is beautiful. We felt very safe at the property and had a very peaceful nights stay.
Lack of a bathroom would turn off most campers but if you are prepared, it’s not a big deal.
