PLEASE NOTE: next availability - Nov 27-30th (3 nights), 4 nights starting Dec 3rd, thank you for your consideration.
Warm greetings to you from our piece of paradise! This is a new reality we are all getting used to, please be kind and mindful while at the camp and adventuring in the area, respecting other’s space and maintaining the safe six-foot distance. We are unsure what official COVID-19 guidelines may be at the time of your visit but we will just mirror them. Things have, and still may change daily. Please be flexible, we truly appreciate your patience and understanding.
We understand the concerns around the virus and would like to share with you the steps we are taking to ensure a safe, relaxing environment for all our guests and staff:
- Our restrooms are cleaned several times a day and all surfaces are disinfected. Please note, to ensure that social distancing guidelines are followed, our restrooms are closed to guests staying in their own/rented RVs or our rental campers. Our public restrooms are only available to guests staying at tent sites, in vans/small teardrop trailers without a bathroom, and in the Sierra Stream rental camper.
- Hand soaps, sanitizers, and disinfectants are available in all common areas for regular use.
- The use of some of our amenities (such as laundry) will be limited or not available.
- Some normally provided items that cannot be wiped down (such as aluminium foil) will be removed.
- As per May 1st order, the use of facial coverings while in public in Mono County and interacting with people outside of your household is required, in effect through the end of the COVID-19 pandemic emergency declaration. Please come prepared. We will ask you to wear masks/face coverings when walking around the camp but not when at your site.
- Consider getting all your supplies before coming to our community.
Now more than ever it is important to spend time connecting in the great outdoors and we are ready to share campfires, starry nights, and our serene area with you. The mountains are a place to get back to basics, a place to explore, to breathe. It is a place where social distancing happens naturally. This is a great opportunity to be together in Nature and not to be isolated in our homes. Together (from a safe distance) we will remain healthy, positive, and strong!
Please read through the entire listing to find out more about the Blu House and our place. Can't wait to hear from you and to be part of your next escape to the Eastern Sierra!
Welcome to the Blu House, so named by our son Oliver! We have lived and loved it here for eight years. If you look closely, you’ll find signs of a family growing up in this home; the marks of Oliver’s heights etched on the door frame; pictures moved up and down leaving the tell tale nail holes. And then there are the birds chirping, the snow-capped mountains, the magnificent sunrises and sunsets over the reservoir, and unspeakable beauty of this country we fell in love with. It never gets old here but we hope to be here when we get old. We open our home to you and hope you love it as much as we do.
The Blu House sleeps five and is a perfect fit for a family or group of friends who know each other well and are pretty comfortable together. The master bedroom comes with super comfy queen size bed and en suite full bathroom with shower. The second bedroom has adult size queen over queen bunk beds. There's also a second bathroom with sink and toilet across the hallway from the master bedroom. Please note that both, master bedroom and its bathroom, have curtains instead of door to maximize on the space, we hope you will be comfortable with this setup and will embrace it.
A private hot tub, full size farmhouse sink, wood burning stove (one bundle of wood provided) and large screen projector with home theater (DVDs provided) are just a few of our favorite features.
You can't beat the serenity of this place, especially in the winter. The house and pretty much the whole area is just incredibly peaceful between November and March and it's a perfect destination to experience the winter magic, be still and see into the heart of the universe (stargazing is off the hook here!), and get away from the city hustle and bustle.
French door fridge, microwave, coffee maker and toaster are also part of the rental. The kitchen is fully equipped with utensils, cookware, glasses, cups, plates, paper towels, soap, and all the typical kitchenware.
The "oh so cozy" down comforters, cotton sheets, bath towels, and dish towels are all provided. You're welcome to use our washer/dryer and the dishwasher (we provide detergents).
This mobile home has a WiFi, cooling system, and an outside seating area with ultra cool hot tub and barbecue. We also provide charcoal briquettes, to get you set up for your grilling and outdoor entertaining. So, all you really need to bring is some clothing and food. Pretty much everything else is covered.
Our rate includes space rent, propane, wifi, parking spot for one car as well as 12% Mono County occupancy tax (TOT). We can also accommodate an extra car, if needed, in our overflow parking. Please message us prior to booking with dates you're hoping to stay with us, so we can enable the "Extra Vehicle Fee" option for you. We have free extra parking available in the winter (November - March).
We're a husband & wife team and this is our adopted home - a small RV Park & Campground located directly on the shores of Bridgeport Reservoir. We believe in campfires, starry nights, good laughs, exploration, a deep sleep and an early rise. The mountains are a place to get back to basics, a place to explore, to breathe. So turn off your phone and turn on your senses. When you arrive we won’t hand you a list of rules but we may ask you to join us for a campfire, remind you to conserve water, and to separate your trash so we can recycle it. That’s about it, oh yeah: relax, it’s your vacation.
It’s important to us that our guests don’t feel they are renting a mobile home as much as they are immersing themselves into the outdoor experience. You may just want to lay in one of our hammocks and read for three days. For the more adventurous, we offer a full slate of self-guided recreational activities such as hiking, kayaking, fishing, ATVing, rock climbing, biking, natural water slides, stand up paddle boards and so much more. Do you enjoy bird watching? There are hundreds of different species right here at Paradise Shores, which is located on a major bird migration route.
Please note that the reservoir is low this summer (water level changes based on the winter snowpack and lowers during the summer months) and swimming isn't currently available. We recommend the nearby Twin Lakes just off Bridgeport if you would like to swim. We still get awesome sunsets and sunrises over the Sawtooth Ridge though!
We do have modern conveniences such as wifi internet; however, we encourage our guest to “unplug” and immerse in the slow pace life instead. If you come to stay with us at the weekend, you'll be welcome to join us around the campfire and connect with fellow campers (we have fires on most Saturdays, s'mores are on us!)
Did we mention that we love dogs? You will see them around the camp in the summer but they're not allowed in the house.
We hope Paradise Shores becomes your home as it is ours. It’s located in one of the most spectacular areas in the world. We’re surrounded on three sides by the high Sierra Nevada Mountains. Yosemite National Park, Tuolumne Meadows, Mono Lake, June Lake, Virginia Lakes, Twin Lakes, and the historic gold-mining town of Bodie are all within a short drive from here. The Blu House is located 2 miles from the historic town of Bridgeport. Bridgeport is a cute little town with couple restaurants, sporting store, gift shops, bakery etc. We've put together a guestbook with some useful recommendations, which you'll find in the house along with the house manual.
You'll have access to the entire house. When our RV camp is open (late April through mid-October) you are also welcome to hang out at our various common areas with fireplaces and barbecues, which we tend to improve every year. We have two kayaks, SUP and paddle boat you can use for free on the reservoir in the mid-spring through early fall and for your winter fun, there's June Mountain ski area 45 minutes drive away and Mammoth Mountain ski area an hour drive away from here. Closer to the house, you can venture into Virginia Lakes area overlooking Mono Lake to ski or snowshoe there and end your daily adventures soaking in the unique Travertine Hot Springs located just 10 minutes from here.
Please note, our minimum stay requirements in the Blu House may vary through the season, based on remaining available dates and our enhanced cleaning schedule. We ask for FIVE nights minimum stay throughout the season and over the 4th of July weekend (and won't have arrivals or departures on July 3rd & 4th) but may on occasion accept 3-4 nights' requests, especially mid-week - please message us with dates prior to requesting the booking. FOUR nights minimum over Nov-March, again, we may be able to accommodate 3 nights on weekdays, please ask.

My favorite thanksgiving!
Stay here!!! If we had a wonderful time despite some of the most challenging weather (winter storm on Thanksgiving weekend), then you can have fun anytime. The kitchen was well-equipped for cooking meals together and Veronika has a fantastic book collection, esp if you love art. Beds were very comfy and bathrooms were sparking. Bridgeport is quiet in winter, but we found plenty of snow activities to do with the Travertine hot springs, building snowmen at Mono Lake, and hikes nearby. Veronika was highly responsive and helpful, which was very reassuring considering we were a bunch of Southerners who didn't know what snowchains were until last week. Lol.
A+ host, cute, cozy house (looks just as good as pics!) great town w/ proximity to Yosemite/Tahoe (in summer), and plenty of ways to stay amused. Will totally stay again!
