15 acre desert ranch is an awesome little desert getaway! Lori was a fantastic host. Her ranch is very accommodating ! Take your guns and shoot, enjoy a gorgeous sunset on top of the mountain, and for an extra fee those familiar with horses can horseback ride. Beautiful quiet night under the stars!
Nice host. The area we stayed in was the shooting range so there were spent shells everywhere so a little grungy. The mules and miniature horse were very sweet and helped us with our pears, LOL. Private and quiet
Perfectly private desert escape
Lorie was a wonderful host. I arrived quite late at night and took off pretty early in the morning, so we never had a chance to meet but she told me everything I needed to know to arrive safely, get settled and be comfortable. She was really responsive over messages right from the moment I booked to my late night and early morning messages about the gate. It made such a difference. The property and where you set up camp is a perfect combination of feeling like your in the wild wilderness of the desert (complete with Joshua Trees), but with the comfort of knowing civilization is close if you need anything. And it was super convenient to stay over on my way travelling south.
Quiet, peaceful, in the nature
Lorie and Adam were great hosts!! Communication was fast and easy, they showed us around their property were they take care of a lot of beautiful animals and they suggested us great hikes! The site was private and quiet and in the morning we had their beautiful horses visit the hill next to us for their morning walk! We would come here again!
Beautiful ranch in the wilderness!
Lorie’s ranch is super beautiful and private feeling. We loved how unique it was and how we were provided different areas that we could set up our space. The animals on the ranch are well kept and seem very happy. We brought our two dogs and they were off leash with us during the daytime. The hostess was very responsive and we enjoyed our stay.
Get out of la without driving hours
The ranch is conveniently close to LA but removed enough to feel like you are getting away a bit. We stayed one short night (arrived well after dark and left by 7AM the next day).
Our host was accommodating with our arrival time, given the need to be let in through the locked gate at the entrance of the ranch. We were concerned with cellular reception to call when we arrived, since we had experienced a lot of dead zones north of her location on our Sprint and Verizon phones. We were happy to find 4G reception was good at the ranch.
The only gripe would be the lack of any kind of tables or seating options in the area where the campers set up. We ended up just sitting on the ground in the dark. This wasn't something that was promised to us, and we didn't ask ahead, so this is more a suggestion than a complaint. There is likely a spot away from the camping area by the bathroom that could have been a social space that we didn't ask about with our late arrival.
Overall, we found Palmrock Ranch to be a nice place to camp for the night, and know there was a lot of interesting stuff we missed with our brief stay (animals on location, art sculptures, etc.) We'd go back and stay again!
Super fun, super clean ranch!
This is an incredible site. Laurie has built an amazing ranch and is a delightful host. The sites were super clean and well maintained, and the ranch has many fun details.
Not a single bottle camp or chip wrapper at the site. The animals are beautiful and happy. I loved the Emu. There are plenty of hikes to be had nearby and it made for a great weekend trip.
Laurie and her son went above and beyond as hosts! I was experiencing car trouble when I arrived they actually towed me into the site safely for the night with their tractor!! I was so thankful. If that wasn’t enough, Laurie’s son Adam immediately went to work troubleshooting my vehicle as he happens to be an exceptional mechanic. He fixed it not once but twice - he came to help when it broke down even AFTER I left camp and got me back on the road.
I could not be more thankful for their hospitality and the great site - I’m already planning my second trip!
