PLEASE READ ENTIRE DESCRIPTION BEFORE REQUESTING, this will ensure you get accepted & are best prepared for the experience.

First Off: Welcome back Hipcampers! We are now accepting bookings once again, and luckily our area of Felton was spared in CZU fire complex, though it was a very close call. A huge thank you goes out to all the fire, medical, and police personnel who helped maintain this crisis.

The most recent addition to our farm this new year, was incorporating this small scale pottery studio into a place and experience we are able to share with others. We are located on a small organic farm in Felton, and have a handful of other units on the property that are available for rent. All guests tend to wander the farm, while respecting each others privacy with enough distance between the rentals. Please be aware there will be other people staying on the property, hence our "quiet hours" between 9pm-9am. We board horses, as well as having a variety of other farm animals such as chickens, ducks, and dwarf goats. Everyone is welcome to visit with the animals, but if you have young children or any allergies please be aware of the animals presence here.

This unit in particular sleeps two, with outdoor seating to enjoy as well an available fire pit nearby. No extra guests are allowed. The studio bathroom is a good 200 meters walk from the unit, and is a separate building with a shower and restroom. Seasonally this restroom may be shared with up to two campers at the Tall Oak Campsite if both units are booked for the same date.

Our property is walking distance(a couple blocks) away from the entrance to Henry Cowell State Park, which is great for mountain biking, running, hiking, train rides, and even water holes. Surf spots in Santa Cruz are within about a ten miles radius of us, and there's a variety of other activities to do there such as sailing, rock climbing, and live music if you're looking for things to do outside. We are within a mile of downtown Felton as well, which has a variety of shops and restaurants to check out.

If you have prior experience with pottery, feel free to contact us about using the wheel during your stay. Clay will not be included. There is no kiln on site.

ATTENTION: As of June 15th we will be changing our fire pit from a wood burning pit to a propane campfire in accordance to local fire restrictions and risks. If you pay for the "Firewood Bundle" add on we will provide a full sized propane cylinder(15lbs) for you so that you can have a campfire. This will be enough propane for multiple fires if you are staying more than one night. If you choose not to do this add on it's all good, but please note that there will not be a private fire pit available behind the studio.

A charcoal bbq grill is available to use and cook on but we ask you bring your own charcoals.

Keep this all in mind while reading this review:
100+ degree weather in the day time and nights getting to about 70ish, city power outage, and thunder & lighting. The weather in Felton is definitely NOT usually like this, we just happened to go during a weird time.

With that all being said... our time at the pottery studio was amazing!!! All the instructions from Sophia were simple to understand and informative. I really like when people just get to the point.

The tiny home had all the necessities with little touches of homeyness. Sophia had a fan in the studio, which was really helpful to cool off the tiny home. It was very clean, you wouldn't even know people use the pottery wheel in there (rating 10/10)! There was still a lot of room for our things. The bed was lumpy and soft for my liking (rating 5/10), but good enough for a couple nights. I took a great nap on it when the temperature was too hot outside. We spent most of our time outside in the yard. There were other guests in the other parts of the property, but we were so off to the side it didn't feel like we were really near anyone. Far enough away to have privacy, but close enough that if we had an emergency there would be people around.

The yard/ property is surrounded by red woods, which provides shade all day, if you are willing to move with the sun. There was ample seating in the little yard designated for your comfort. The yard has solar powered fairy lights, which adds to the ambiance when you are hanging out at night. The fire pit was easy to use and of course Sophia provides instructions if you are unfamiliar with that unit. The bathroom was way better than what I was expecting! The little cabin bathroom had plenty of space. It did have some standing water in the shower, not too much so bring flip flops or something if you don't want to stand in it (Rating 7/10). It is slightly hard to walk on the little rocks to and from the bathroom/ where we parked and the tiny home. I could totally walk on it, but when carrying heavy stuff like my cooler, I slightly sunk in with every step. This aspect is so minor though, don't let this scare you off. The overall property was really peaceful even with lots of animals around and really nice scenery.

So I would definitely recommend this spot if you want a chill place to stay. It was exactly what I was looking for! I hope you get the chance to stay here.

The stay there was amazing! It was great to hang out by the firepit, play with the goats and roosters.

It is a close 5-minute walk to the state park for a great evening hike. The room was surprisingly warm, and we enjoyed our stay there.

The spot is a 15-minute walk into town, and there are a few good eateries and drink spots to take advantage of. I would stay again!

The property was exactly what was promised in the description. Sophia was very nice and communicated with us in a timely matter, answering any questions we had right away! We stayed for one night for a mini weekend getaway. It was super relaxing to be on Sophia's farm and fun to walk around and see the chickens, goats and horses. The little pottery studio was very cute, cozy, and clean! It got a little cold at night, but thankfully Sophia had put a little heater inside for us to use, so it wasn't a problem. Would 100% recommend this to anyone wanting a quick relaxing getaway from the Bay Area city life!

Very relaxing view from inside the studio Fun chickens to watch! Henry Cowell SP just a few minutes walking distance!

Wow! This place is just magical. The tiny home was perfect - cozy, warm, & private. Though you’re at the farm & near other people staying at other accommodations on the property, this little space feels very private and intimate. The pottery wheel was such a wonderful touch - I could’ve stayed a week longer! The tiny home has its own “backyard” area, which was its own very peaceful and beautiful space. The host (Sophia) even provided a heater for inside the room, which was much appreciated at night. If you’re looking for a place to relax while still enjoying the comfort of a warm bed, I can’t recommend this stay enough! Thank you, Sophia for a wonderful time & for making this stay so enjoyable.

Our experience at Sophia’s family farm in the pottery studio/tiny house was magical! She was not only the most hospitable, friendly person but she also made it possible for us to use the pottery wheel even though we struck out getting our own clay. The farm was adorable, complete with 2 goats that loved hanging out with us and 2 majestic horses. We were blown away by the whole experience and will definitely be coming back soon!

I loved this little farm studio so much. I had so much privacy and I just spent the best time being quiet in my own company haha. It is surrounded by trees and looks into a "meadow". I had dinner with deers, goats, chickens, and owls hooting in the background. The studio is so cozy and comfortable; smells like wet clay :)

We loved staying at the farm! Really appreciated the care put into the space and effort to make the tiny house (and bathroom!) so clean and comfortable. We let Sophie know we planned to use the pottery wheel and she provided all the instructions/tools we needed. Location can't be beat- being very close to the Henry Cowell park entrance, we walking there for our hike and post-hike swim. Thanks for a great stay! We hope to be back soon!

Sophia was a great, responsive and friendly host. Although I never met her in the flesh, I appreciated her answering my questions!

The spot was found just as described. SUPER cute. Private little area to the side for a fire. Walking distance to Henry Cowell and the main strip of Felton. Clean bathroom. Not the best shower, but it felt good after a long day of hiking.
