We are "Pixie's Place Animal Sanctuary & Hospice", a non-profit 501.(c)(3) Trust for the Animals who live here.
We also offer a Quantum Healing Shamanic Retreat, which is available to city dwellers through: CrystalSoundQuantumHealing.com.
We are located at the entrance to Sequoia Nat'l Park/Lake Kaweah, in the village of Three Rivers, CA (Central Cali; between Bakersfield (1 hour and 40 min) and Fresno (1 hour and 10 min.); 30 min up the hill, above Visalia). 3 hours N.E. from L.A.
In addition to the Shamanic Retreat, we offer this camping spot down in a lower area on the 3/4 of an acre property. The main chalet sits above, with a corral and Sanctuary Reading shed in between. The South Fork of the Kaweah River is at the back of the property with a very "sweet" swimming hole to enjoy as long as the water is flowing down the river as it is seasonal depending on drought conditions. However, June 2018 it is perfect!
There is bamboo privacy fencing around the 12 x 12 Tee Pee tent, with a queen air mattress. A second tent of your own could be set up on the other side of the privacy area for groups of 4. I cannot accommodate more.
I limit the activity here by having only 2 listings; limited to a total of 6 total guests on the property possible between the two listings.
The property is not kid friendly, and is not really here for children as much as it is offered for the inner child in adults. WE ARE 420 friendly which is in opposition to most "family" landscapes....so please note this.
There may be a retreat being held or not; if there is a retreat, we will have a drum circle if it's a Friday evening; Saturday evening we screen the New Media/Experimental film I made which screened last November in London at Cinema Magic. The animals of Pixie's Place were actors in the film, along with many of the scenes filmed here.
You are welcome to join us, if you'd like:)
Everything works a little bit like a bed and breakfast; a non pretentious environment that supports the animals, self healing; and the enjoyment of sharing this sacred spot I have created.
There is a BBQ grill available for campers to use, along with a fire pit.
We are a 420 friendly, artist/writer/shamanic/retreat. Retreat won't start until late August, early Sept.
Feel free to invest in the vegetable garden; help yourself to any available fruit, as well as the abundant fresh Rosemary & Lavender.
I put up a new tent up this week and will update with photos asap. (6/3)
We also have a second listing: "Vintage Rainbow Garden" 1956 11 ft Aluminum "Rainbow" Trailer available for booking 2 people only.
Your bookings support the animals whom you can interact with.
We have "Pixie Emelia Aurora" aka "Pea" our mascot; a 10 year old Nubian goat. Siddartha Cloudwalker a Nigerian Dwarf, along with his son, Sage Lyrid Ray, born here on Earth Day 2012!
There are many cats, who each have their stories of how they found their way to Pixie's Place, including bad boy mustang "Hermes Inyo Ray" who is down the street and loves meeting new people! We take on who we can; assuring all creatures a place they can live, be loved and accepted for their "issues" until the cross the rainbow bridge xo

The vibe at In the Forest by the River
If you stayed here and have some insider info for us, let us know!
My husband and I were looking for a camp site near Sequoia National Park for our anniversary, but no sites were available. So we decided to give a shot to Hipcamp, and we are really glad we did. Wendi was our first Hipcamp host, and we were her first guests, and we are really glad to have met her. She made us feel very welcomed and comfortable, yet gave us our privacy as well. We are used to regular camp grounds, and here are the few things we loved about this place: 1. Privacy- we were the only camper, and we didn’t see anyone including the neighborhood. 2. Convenience- there is a water supply, access to the toilet, and a local market. Also, we did not have to set up our tent since there was a tipi tent built up. 3. Nature- the river, rocks, trees, goats, and just about everything offer a great atmosphere. Especially the river! We were content to just hang out there all day! 4. Great host- Wendi was really nice and very considerate and thoughtful. She was very fast to respond, and please to talk to. My husband and I were honored to spend our first wedding anniversary at a beautiful place with a great host. We can’t wait to go back in a few weeks!
Wendi is a great host. Very hospitable, generous, and accommodating. The camp is beautiful and the river gives you a peaceful and calm experience. If you love animals you will have fun. Our only challenge were the roosters that woke us up @ 5:00am. The heat was terrible and I’d love to sleep in until the sun gets the better out of me.
Wendi has the most beautiful soul. I love that she’s willing to share her life, her ambitions for her property, her animals and her love for her practice. We loved the property and our absolute favorite is the creek. Wow! We were so lucky to arrive on a really hot weekend. LOL We took a dip in the morning and ended our day there was well. It’s so magical. We really love the sound of the creek too. Thank you Wendi! We’ll be back soon!! 🤙🏽🤙🏽
A true gem of a place! After using this site to road trip across the country, my party and I all agree this was the best Hipcamp experience we've had by far. Wendi is an amazing host and person. She accommodated our needs way more than necessary and genuinely cares about her guests experience on her beautiful property. We had plenty of privacy being the only campers on the plot, and thoroughly enjoyed relaxing in the river after hiking around Sequoia. Everything from the basket of grapefruit that welcomed us to engaging talks with the wonderful host makes this place truly special. I highly recommend a stay.
My husband and I were road tripping through California for our anniversary. Our first stop was Wendi's beautiful property! This was our first time using hip camp and I am so glad we went with Wendi!! She is right on a beautiful private creek that was so wonderful to play in all day long. The weather was pretty warm (100) when we went but it was about 10-15 degrees cooler under the trees by the stream. We loved the stream and played in it the whole time we were there. It was a nice private oasis! We will definitely be coming back to see wendi again and camp here. She is such a gracious host and really opens up to her guests. I feel like Wendi was a long lost friend. It was so easy for us to get lost in a long in depth conversation. She is so sweet and caring and she made sure we were comfortable and felt welcomed. One of the nights the temp was staying above 90 and she brought a fan to the tent for us which saved us and we slept great! Thank you so much Wendi you have a really special location and thank you for opening it up to hip campers to enjoy! We can't wait to come back. Highly highly recommend "pixies place" you are in great hands with Wendi! Hope the dam is still standing for you to enjoy that my husband built 😘.
This was my very first time using HipCamp, and I am so happy that I chose to stay here first. Wendi was such an amazing host. She made all of my group feel welcome right away. We loved getting to spend time with the animals, and help in naming one of the new baby goats!!!!! We have already begun talking about another trip back again later this year! Thank you Wendi for all of your help with our trip in the forest, and sharing the perfect spot for us to go swimming by the house! We loved every moment! We can't wait to be back soon! Tell the animals hello for us all!
Wendi, her space and her animals are all 💯!
Tucked at the end of a residential, but not crowded, street is pixies place. It opens up into an expansive backyard that rolls down to a river. Water flow is probably best in May/June?? But still some around in Aug.
The teepee is comfy and peaceful. You feel very private.
Super special human. I decide to take part in her crystal healing, which was very enlightening and holistic. Some things can’t be explained, so I won’t try. But I suggest you try, she def has a spiritual gift.
Great cats and goats. Our dogs got along fine.
* Very close to sequoia Np and Forest. Would suggest camping up in the forest too. You can park on side of road and sleep in van.
* The river behind Antoinette’s is quite fun for swimming in (of water slow), must sneak across (non-threatening) private property adjacent to the black coffee shop by art gallery (behind buckaroo grill or something).
Overall, space it great and I’ll be back. If you’re looking for back-country style camping, this is not really the place. I say that just for those that are looking for a completely disconnected experience. It’s really hard to asses that with the current hipcamp profiles.
Our stay with Wendi was better than we could ever have imagined. The place was beautiful and relaxing. We had a great weekend enjoying nature and spending time with Wendi and her animals. Thank you for being such a great hipcamp host and we can’t wait to come back ❤️
