Rugged, isolated camping for the highly experienced seeking something a bit different.
Choose your own camp site. I'll pump fresh water for you, get your oriented, and then head off to my tiny cabin. You likely won't see anyone else until you check out but you might see plenty of wildlife.
At over 5,000 feet, the views are great in every direction. For photographers, the evening light is exceptional. At night, astronomers have some of the darkest skies available this close to a city.
Miles of hiking, including the nearby Pacific Crest Trail. Pet my three horses (including one "wild" Mustang), or bring your own horses. Maps for responsible off-roaders

The vibe at Oakley Ridge
If you stayed here and have some insider info for us, let us know!
Sandy has a gorgeous plot of land bordering BLM forest in the southern tip of the Sierra Nevada. Very remote and quiet, and just a 45-minute hike to the Pacific Crest Trail. Ideal for backpackers and campers looking to avoid all the overcrowded weekend spots. We spent a couple nights camping and day-hiked the PCT. Gorgeous weather, spectacular views, stunning sunsets and stargazing, and a warm, wonderful host.
