Beautiful log cabin nestled in the oak woodland, wake up a stone throw's away from our private secluded year-round creek/river and lush, magical, swimming hole. (Cabin is a single room, it has electricity but no internet as it is far from the landowners' main house, queen sized bed with clean cozy bedding, table, rugs, space on the floor for another matters or pads if you wish to bring more than two people).
You will experience the Absolute quiet of nature with its unique sounds and visitors (water birds, deer, fox, rabbits, are all frequent friends), in a gorgeous cabin with a small deck. There is another cabin a few feet away that can also be booked together. Outhouse nearby. Walking the trails up toward the main house where the land owners live, you will find an out-dwelling with a small but fully equipped guest kitchen (fridge, stove, utensils, etc. no microwave) and a full bathroom with hot shower.
A firepit is available for use in this area as well as a grill.
Hanging around this area you will have (relatively fast) internet access if you need it.
We are surrounded by thousands of acres of protected land, so this is TRULY a retreat space. Oaks, gentle trails, open sky, and the sweet waters of our year-long creek with its 100 feet long 12 feet deep swimming hole. In the winter, the rocky boulders by the creek provide blissful meditation spots, and there is much walking, feeling, delighting, and resting to be had.

The vibe at Creekside Cabin

I had a great stay in Yael's cabin! It's beautifully decorated and makes an excellent cozy getaway. It's not too far from town, nicely hidden away and surrounded by lots of hills and near a small river. The cabin itself is just big and comfortable enough for two. The bed was super cozy with heavy blankets to keep warm. It's just a short walk down the hill from the main house. There's an outhouse near the cabin or you can walk back up the hill to the seperate outdoor kitchen/shower. Yael was an awesome host and very accommodating - thank you! I highly recommend giving the cabin a go if you're looking for a peaceful getaway to nature in the hills.
The two cabins are close to each other but feel very isolated from everything else. The hike from the kitchen/parking area is steep and a bit strenuous. The river is a short walk, you can't really see it from the cabins, but you can hear it. The smaller cabin is more sunny than the larger cabin. We found out after we booked that campfires were actually not allowed. This was a bit of a bummer because that was one of the filter criteria we used to find this place.
We had a lovely time at the cabin and Yael was so nice and welcoming to us. This cabin feels truly tucked away and in the middle of nature. Even though it was pouring rain, we stayed warm inside in the cozy cabin, falling asleep with the sound of rain on the roof and the river close by rushing by. Just what we needed to escape the city. Only wish we could have stayed a little longer.
We had a great time at Creekside Cabin! The swimming hole is amazing, and was perfect for coping with the California heat wave over the weekend. We found the kitchen sufficient for cooking a couple meals. We really enjoyed the solidarity of the cabin and creek area. The sounds of crickets and frogs in the evening was heavenly.
This was a perfect hideaway to get a good river soak and some hot summer weather. The cabin is a short walk down from the main house, where you can park your car. The trail was covered in fallen leaves so it was a little slippery on some of the inclines, but not bad if you're wearing proper shoes. There is an outhouse between the two cabins (they're pretty close to each other, but the smaller cabin was vacant the weekend I was there). The cabin I had in has a ceiling fan which really helped move some air around, and a nice wrap around deck to chill on. A short stroll further down the hill leads to a private creek swimming hole. In the morning I saw some deer and the creek had fish and turtles in it. Back towards the main house there is a small kitchen which is fully stocked with a fridge and utensils and pots and pans for cooking. In the same building is a full bathroom with a shower. I only wish that this was a little bit closer to the cabin because hiking up the hill in 100 degree heat to cook was a little rough, but there is a nice outdoor seating area off the kitchen that you can eat your meals at, since carrying down a plate of food to the cabin would be a little precarious.
All in all, this was a perfect retreat and the creek definitely has healing powers! Yael was super responsive to any questions I had and met me when I drove up. :)
