When you visit Nana's Ranch you're visiting a busy hobby farm complete with a variety of animals. Join us for a birth if you're blessed to be here when the goats are in labor. All of our does have given birth for 2019 but we have bottle babies and so many cute kids running and playing in their pasture. Visitors will be thrilled.

Besides goats, we have donkeys and a variety of fowl we tend to. You may want to experience life with our flocks of happy, cage free chickens and ducks, and that's OK. You might even get to see eggs hatching or newly hatched chicks or ducklings.

Our donkeys, Rosa and Java Joe, love treats and appreciate campers who bring them carrots and apples *hint hint*

We have one tent site at this time. It is nestled among oak trees, close to the goat pasture where we keep our girls, and near our backyard where our dogs stay during the day. There is plenty of room for 3 large tents at the site. It is semi private as far as humans go but you may be watched by curious goats, ducks, and chickens.

You can be as alone as you'd like during your stay, but morning and evening chores will bring us close to the campsite. We may also be working on projects in the yard or pastures while you are here. Curiosity and questions are encouraged but we will give you your space.

We have an outdoor shower (cold water), one toilet, and running water at the campsite. There is an area for food preparation and dish washing. Cooking can be done in the BBQ, smoker, on our propane cooktop, or on the wood stove.

If panning for gold is your thing, let us know and we will set up a panning station and some promising material for you to pan. You can collect eggs, watch chicks & ducks hatch, watch goats being born, milk goats, pick fruit and vegetables in the garden, and other fun experiences in season. There are fees associated with some of these activities. Please ask.

Yosemite National Park is just north of us up Highway 41. Most people who visit this area spend time in the park during the day. Some go to Bass Lake. Make your plans to trek away and explore the area or just hang out here and play croquet, badminton, horseshoes, check out the garden, or swing in a hammock if the weather is hot. Let us know what you want to do and we will get things set up for you.

And we also do weddings at Nana's Ranch. Mel is an ordained minister through Universal Life Church and Dave is an event photographer with wedding experience. You can either bring your own everything or let us be part of the event. Wedding party size is limited and all guests must be registered through Hipcamp at $5 per person. But how exciting! You can get married in the beautiful Sierra Nevada Foothills with a chorus of barnyard animals celebrating with you. There is room for a band, we have tables and chairs for up to 50 guests, propane grill, BBQ & smoker for food preparation, and more. We also offer access to a guest bedroom in the house for the wedding party to get ready. Weddings must book 2 nights in the main group site. **at this point, this is our only site but we are adding more small sites soon** We would love to help you celebrate your special day.

Night noises; we live on 3 fenced acres and are surrounded by larger properties. Some of our neighbors have dogs and there may be some barking here and there at night. We have roosters who crow before the sun comes up and sometimes at night during a full moon. Wild animals seen here are coyote, bobcat, cottontail, ground & tree squirrels, fence lizards, a variety of birds, and more. We even have a bald eagle and golden eagle who sometimes sit by the pond in the donkey pasture. If coyotes are in the area, it can get pretty loud at night. For these reasons, we have earplugs available for campers who need a little help with typical country noises. Things you won't usually hear; horns honking, tires screeching, sirens, loud music, doors slamming, and other city noises.

Great place and a sweet treat if you love animals. Goats, donkeys, ducks and chicken will brighten up your day. Our 7 years old daughter just loved it! Camp here for you Yosemite trip. We did a day trip to the park and had enough time to see most of the attractions and still make it back before dark. Also close to Sequoia and Kings Canyon. You can be there in 2 hours and have plenty of time to explore before heading back. This is a place that you may be able to book when all Yosemite and Sequoia camps are booked, so check availability and have a great camping experience.

You guys were awesome. Thank you for visiting. Tell your daughter that we still have 3 little quail and they are growing up so fast. We will be putting them into a coop to grow a little more before we turn them loose in the yard. They have bonded to 2 chicken chicks they have been with since they were just a few days old.

Hosts went above and beyond to make our stay as comfortable as possible! Loved the outdoor shower and furry farm animals as our neighbors. Earplugs are essential for the morning rooster and donkey calls, but the hosts provide that for you. Thank you for the warm hospitality!

Thank you for visiting us. We loved having you. Some people pass on the earplugs, but I don't know how they sleep. I think the roosters are starting at around 4:30 AM still. When I use my earplugs, I sleep like a rock.

We had an amazing time camping here!! Mel and Dave were fantastic hosts who put a lot of heart into everything they do. The camp site was perfect, we loved having access to great amenities- water, a clean outhouse, outdoor lights, a grill, table with shade, trash cans, and more. Morning chores were so much fun! We milked goats, fed the animals, and even picked fresh items from their organic garden. Our daughter had a blast and has been talking about it ever since! There is close proximity to Yosemite and Bass Lake, we made day trips out of visiting each place. We hope to visit again next summer and would highly recommend this spot to other campers!

Thank you for choosing us, even though there were no reviews when you booked. You took a leap of faith, for sure. But it seems like all went well and even your dog had fun. She did so well with all of the animals around. The mother duck inside the hollow stump hatched her only egg and is such a proud mom. She is in the Tiny House Coop with another mother duck who hatched out 8 little ones. They are all just 1 day apart. And Jackson is still taking bottles of milk, even though he is old enough to not need them. But it's hard to say, "No" to him.

Our stay at Nana's Ranch was incredible! Dave & Mel were wonderful hosts and actually let my wife bottle feed a baby goat! Mel answered all of our animal quests with a smile and plenty of information. Dave & Mel provide so much for their campers. Tables, BBQ, portable stovetop, smoker, chairs, and fire pit were all there for us to use. Even lanterns and earplugs which you will need for the occasional nightly rooster crow. We loved our stay at Nana's Ranch!

One of the reasons it took us so long to finally take a trip to Yosemite was because it’s pretty impossible to actually book a campsite in the park. So when we decided to just camp outside Yosemite and drive in each day, we turned to Hipcamp. Turned out to be the best thing that happened because we ended up at magical Nana’s Ranch!⁣

The campsite is on a hobby farm in the Sierra Nevada foothills, about 45 minutes from Yosemite’s south entrance. You bring your own tent or RV to set up on a lovely patch of flat grass. But they provide a table under a shady awning, a sink area to wash dishes, a huge BBQ, a super clean outhouse with nearby sink, a cold-water outdoor shower and a hammock. You’re the only campers, so you get plenty of privacy — except for the silky chickens and ducks and guineas that pop over for a visit, plus the nearby goats and donkeys.⁣

The animals are why we came! We got to sip coffee each morning as we looked at the pond full of ducks and chickens. We got to feed carrots to donkeys Rosa and Java Joe. We got to give the goats scratches and watch them climb trees and feed them leaves from the oak trees. We watched baby ducks and chickens bath. We peeked out of our tent to see chickens waddling by and bunnies hopping through. And the highlight was bottle feeding one of the baby goats!

Another bonus of this lovely site are the owners, Dave and Mel. They let us join them for some morning farm chores, then accepted our invite to chat around the campfire. They’re so friendly and fascinating! And now we have tentative plans to meet up later for another camping adventure.⁣

We’d highly recommend this spot for exploring Yosemite or any nearby areas, including Bass Lake.

Brooke, we LOVED having you both. And our animals learned pretty quickly that you are vending machines, which is the highest compliment a goat or donkey can give. I look forward to adventures with you in the future.

My boyfriend and I are currently from the Joshua Tree to Seattle. During the booking process, our camp host Mel was responsive and accommodated a last minute change to our reservation. The camp was a luxury after weeks on the road: from a three burner cook top stove, hammock, fire pit, cold water shower, and outhouse. The highlight of our stay was the fully functioning ranch. I highly recommend booking the morning chore tour to get hands on experience of milking goats, bottle feeding kids, gathering eggs, picking seasonal vegetables from the large garden, and afterwards, receiving a bounty of farm fresh goods. Additionally, Mel’s adorable grandchildren were such informative and enthusiastic tour guides and provided entertaining anecdotes to life on the ranch. Needless to say, Nana’s Ranch has everything you could want and more.

Mel was really welcoming to our group. We were amazed by all that was offered on the property. There was a fire pit, a charcoal grill, a table and chairs. It was fun to watch all of the chickens freely roaming around the backyard, as well as all of the other animals on her property. Of course they wake you up really early, but that was not at all a problem for us. We would definitely camp at Nana's Ranch again.

A lot of space, great hosts, chairs/tables provided, newly built bench, great experiences with goats, chickens, donkeys, and ducks. There’s a very playful dog. There’s a smoker and grill. You have an opportunity to milk a goat and tour around the farm (you can drink goat milk). Very nice outdoor shower and restroom. This is by far the best camping grounds my friends and I have went to. Highly recommended.
