Fantastic stay and yoga session with Chery at Mountain Valley Retreat! Wish we had more time to check out the sensory deprivation pool experience. 100% recommended.

Mountain Valley Retreat
What a treat it was for us to spend a night in one of Chery's teepees and join her AMAZING yoga class the next morning. Chery's energy and the beautiful space she's cultivated around her home shine through every part of this lovely retreat. Highly recommend for anyone who's looking to spend some time outside of the city!

Mountain Valley Retreat
This place was a perfect weekend getaway for anyone who wants to leave the busy city hustle and bustle and enjoy some good ol nature. Great location next to beautiful state parks (about 15-20 minute drive). The tipi itself was very cozy! It was quite a windy and rainy weekend when we arrived but the tipi definetely held up fine and no water got in -Woohoo! Chery even included a heater for us to utilize which definetely came in handy! We took her AMAZING yoga class and it truly was a healing experience. She also cooked us breakfast for one of the mornings (upon request!) to help get our day started for a nice beautiful hike and it was great! All in all, lovely experience and definetely highly recommend coming!

Short getaway gf and I needed
Mountain Valley Reatreat was the short, relaxing weekend break my girlfriend and I needed. The tipi was cozy, the breakfasts were (honestly) gourmet, and the fresh mountain air didn’t disappoint.
We were lucky enough to be able to complete a slow Yin yoga class with Chery before we left which completed the short getaway.
Would definitely go back.
P.S. bring enough snacks for hiking before arrival as the closest stores are a while away! Also, - The restaurant by the art institute in Borrego Springs is tasty and vegan friendly if you’re hiking out that way.

Mountain Valley Retreat
Dive into a wilderness retreat right outside the San Ysidro Mountains and glamp in teepees to your heart's content. If you prefer something a little more outdoorsy, pitch your tent in the Oak Grove on the property surrounded by beautiful trees and hammocks in strategically shaded areas. Mountain Valley retreat is Chery's vision that attracts lovers of nature, yoga, hiking, and bodywork.
We arrived in the early afternoon and after Chery showed us the property, the yurts, and the teepees we kicked off our boots and shaded ourselves from the desert sun for an afternoon snooze. About a mile from the PCT, you may find yourself in the company of thru-hikers starting their journey in Mexico and hiking all the way to Canada. You will hear of great stories and maybe share some tips and tricks on gear, light travel, and intentions.
The main house is where you can share healthy, delicious meals that Chery cooks for a donation. There is also the option of donation-based yoga and Chery offers her services of massage and energy work with the option of the floating pool experience in one of the yurts as well. Chery has mentioned her love of circular structures and the womb-like experiences you may encounter in them. Come with a group of friends and dive into the depths of each other or come as a thru-hiker where you can rest your legs and reset and your thoughts and your packs!
Whatever it is you are looking for, Mountain Valley Retreat is a sweet little getaway with an amazing location to the Anza Borrego State Park where you can explore or just stay on the grounds and completely unwind.
