The vibe at Mountain Bubble
If you stayed here and have some insider info for us, let us know!
Lihi is a top notch host. Her place is a bit of drive up one of the better maintained gravel roads we've seen. Once we turned into her driveway, my wife and I both said "Oh wow!". She has a nice spot set up for an average sized tent with an outhouse and outdoor shower. There's a pond that is apparently 25 feet deep. Overall, very nice, picturesque place in the mountains.
Our host has created such a thoughtful, welcoming campsite on her property! She was so friendly and went out of her way to make sure we felt welcome and had everything we needed. Just make sure to bring insect repellant because the mosquitoes were out in full force. Other than that it was a fairy tale location. Would love to go back!
Lihi was an amazingly gracious host. This tucked away spot up in the hills above Crescent City was awesome!
It's a great little site with tons of privacy - shes even awesome enough to leave you both pond water, and drinkable water at the site, with glasses! and some other handy little things!
We came away jealous of where she lives being tucked up in the trees!
The property is lovely, tucked way back along dirt roads. Air smelled great -- combination of a canopy of mostly fir and an understory of ferns and rhododendrons. The site consists of a smooth cleared area for a tent, a well-maintained outhouse, a cold-water shower, a firepit with grill, and some basic cooking and cleaning necessities. Lihi, or a fairy in her employ, came by during the night and left a jar full of cut flowers near the jugs of drinking water and washing-up water.
I would like to start by saying Mountain Bubble is absolutely beautiful and unique. Unlike any other experiences or opportunity we may ever have. The host was so sweet, accommodating and made us feel right at home. As newbies to the outdoorsy world, it was far too secluded for our liking. We felt safe within the confines of our campground but were unsure about the surrounding area. Also, it took us 40 minutes to drive up and down the mountain, one way. I would highly recommend this site for the outdoorsy ones or the campers looking to get away from the real world for awhile. On our hike around the area (outside of the property), we found some bullet casings and shotgun shells which were most likely from visitors going up to shoot or locals shooting at targets. Nonetheless, you should be careful walking around, in my opinion. Mosquitoes can be bother some but host makes her own all natural salv that works great. We did not get bit once. Overall, this is a once in a lifetime experience to stay at Mountain Bubble just need to be sure you know what you’re going up to.
