My stay with my partner was absolutely what we needed out here! The campsite was nice and quiet, had amazing views of the park, and was stunning at night with the moonlight.
Mikeal was such a welcoming and cool host, and he was so helpful in offering advice on where to set up camp, what the camp offered, and so on.

This site was perfect for our travel trailer. Did have pull up a steep hill but it made for fantastic sunrise views in the morning. Mikeal has an interesting array of comfy furniture to relax on and adorable outdoor kitchen with eclectic accessories. We enjoyed or short stay

I was greeted by Mikeal as I arrived, super nice, showed me a few of his many spots, I picked and all was good. One of my main concerns about camping is being in a safe environment, I felt very safe there. You can tell that a lot of time and effort went into this place, there were many things one could use in a communal type kitchen area, though I didn’t need, it was a nice option.
Picturesque views and peace and quiet, my other must haves, it had both. About a 15 min drive to the west entrance of the park, not counting the line to get in at peak times.
I would most definitely refer to friends and stay again.

Great location and super helpful host. For the price there is a lack of any amenities. The site is thoughtful just no water or toilets. So you really need an equipped van or rv to comfortably camp here. Specifically a toilet.

What a great location if you want to camp somewhere where people are not going to be driving in and out of your camping area. Magnificent views from just about anywhere you decide to post tent, I spent one good day without having to leave the whole site looking at rock formations the sky, the scenery, the city or anything that caught my attention.one of the best things about this campsite is they have A freaking community kitchen, yes, a community kitchen supply with a decent barbecue pit, large countertop to prep food, and a propane barbecue grill. you came out on the right day or night You might get lucky to be able to use one of the fire pits. Seems like this campsite is exactly halfway in between into the city for food options or gas, or halfway opposite side into the Joshua tree national park entrance. This whole location truthfully seems a whole lot quieter than it wood inside the national park, so if that’s your thing, I highly recommend recommended for that.

Mikeal’s set up is top tier. The community space is nice and well thought out. The property is beautiful. I made a mistake and booked the campsite thinking that there were tent sites but that isn’t something they offer any more due to regulation. Mikeal was kind enough to offer up his camper and saved me a headache. Solid host

What a unique and great place to be! We stayed for 3 nights with our little kids and it was just perfect! Plenty of room to play around, a lot of great things to discover, and an awesome outdoor living room and kitchen.
Sadly, we are leaving but are very happy to have stayed here.

Super cool - Upper camp is awesome, bumay be too steep for some vehicles. Very unique, great views, you'll need to be fully equipped - water, toilet, etc. Would definitely stay again.

Motion Recalibration and its Host was the perfect experience. Host Michael goes above and beyond to make sure your visit is the best. He was available, attentive, and thoughtful in all things. We really appreciated the personal touch and especially the eggs he gifted us with from his own chickens. Wonderful space with both privacy and communal options.
Located close by a charging station for those of us with electric adventure vehicles.
Would definitely stay here again!

Motion Recalibration Station :)RV
The Motion Recalibration Station was perfect for my 2 night stay in the Joshua Tree area. You can't beat the ease of access to the park and the relative hustle in the town of Joshua Tree. The view from the upper campsites was incredible and the area was blissfully quiet, with nothing but cactus wrens and coyotes coloring the soundscape.
Michael was exceedingly kind and cares immensely about sharing the hospitality of his family's property.
Logistics: The road can be a little rough in spots but any car should make it with careful enough driving. There are no bathrooms or plugs/hookups so bring a warm sleeping bag, your own port-a-potty (or pee bottle ;-) ) and power banks for your devices.

Motion is an amazing campsite!! The views are incredible and you can tell a lot of thought has gone into the layout of the site and the communal area. There are so many little touches that turn this desert campground into a home from home place to stay. Mike was so friendly and relaxed, his directions were perfect and we felt very comfortable during our stay. The stars were incredible at night and views for sunset and sunrise were well worth staying awake/waking up for! Our only regret is that we didn’t stay longer!

Awesome! Best place to camp in the area! So much love has been put in this beautiful and peaceful place! Michael and Kristine responded fast to our reservation and were both so welcoming and nice. Michael was so responsive via text before we got to the site and then came by to introduce himself and offer advice on best nearby routes to explore (and where to hike to find wild pinon!) once we'd arrived. The camp was super cute with all the amenities we needed, to include olive oil to cook with! We had such a great time and would definitely return on our next trip to JT. Thanks so much, Michael!

The kitchen area is a real bonus. The sitting area is cute and has nice views. Getting to the campsite you have to drive on a VERY bumpy dirt road. Be prepared because I doubt all vehicles could make it. There is absolutely no shade here, which makes sense with it being the desert. But just a warning.

We had an amazing stay at Motion Recalibration Station. The kitchen area was great for cooking and everything was well-kept. We loved eating our meals at the tables overlooking the valley. It's a little bit more expensive than camping inside the park but the amenities make it worth it (plus, it's only a 10-minute drive from the park entrance). Michael was super nice and welcoming. We will definitely be staying here again if we go back to Joshua Tree!

Such a great place to go camping. My boyfriend and I camped for the night recently and I wish we would have stayed for a 2nd night. We liked it so much.
The set up was great; very much like the description. There are a lot of areas where you can set up your tent throughout the property. The shared kitchen area and communal space were fully stocked with cookware, utensils, etc. We didn't even need to pack our own.
Communication and directions were spot on. We didn't have any issues finding the place. And connecting with Michael was super easy and clear.
I'll definitely be back!
