My friend and I came for a night in October. It's not hard to find-- but definitely make sure to follow the host's directions! This place is most comfortable with up to 4 people inside the house. You can ask Jennifer about tent camping on the left side of the yard. We particularly fell in love with the hammocks, where we got a mix of shade and sun. Inside the house looked modern, pristine, with art decor and metaphysical objects, which I found done quite tastefully. There's a cute vintage fridge in the kitchen, and we were welcomed with a free bottle of wine. We couldn't get over how the place smelled sooo good! It was very clean. It's fun to look at all the art objects. We opened the garage door, which adds to it especially if you decide to grill and have people mingle on the porch. Over in the office area were information about the park and a brochure on art tours. To me, the host really wants you to get the most out of your stay. Although you can see the main road to Joshua Tree National Park, the area was almost always silent. It felt like we were at the park. At night we could hear some desert animals hooting and yelping a bit. I highly recommend staying here. You're super close to the west side entrance of Joshua Tree National Park.
We came here to celebrate the new year and a birthday and it was the perfect getaway for both. We felt right at home - enjoyed some wine, cooked a meal, played some cards, read through some of the books and magazines and even enjoyed a nice Sunday morning yoga session on our last day. Would highly recommend for friends and couples alike.
