If you stayed here and have some insider info for us, let us know!
Peggy is an amazing host, she was good to all of us. My boys loved the sandwiches, the desserts and the shaved ice that she makes.
We were the only ones camping here and had the entire site to ourselves and that was very good for us, our boys could run everywhere
The shower has hot water and after a long day of hiking, it was bliss. The beach is about 30 mins away and we spent a lot of time there.
There are 2 ponies, 2 pigs, a dog- they are playful and really want to come to campsite all the time.
She has a guidebook and does suggest some good places to go around. Overall, we liked our stay and our only hope for next time is that we go when the weather is cooler to enjoy the space more.
Mommapeggs was great! We camped near the mini horses and pigs and it was so cute when they came up to our site to say hi. Fresh muffins in the morning was so sweet. Only downside is toilet is a porta potty but it is very clean. Would definitely recommend!
We had a peaceful stay here. The shower was amazing and just what we needed at the end of a hot day. The site was quiet and well laid out. We were the only guests so we parked up our small RV and jung out and relaxed.
Warm & welcoming stay
Momma Pegg’s is a little gem. Peggy is incredibly welcoming and warm, the outdoor shower is a godsend after a hot day. The bathroom is a pot-o-potty but there is running, potable water with which to wash your hands and wash up every morning and evening. We would definitely stay again because of Peggy’s hospitality, the location (1.5 hours from Yosemite, 10 mins from Don Pedro Reservoir), and the cute animals!
Momma Peggy was absolutely amazing! She was so welcoming and kind. She checked on us when we arrived and when we left. She made every camper a cup of fresh fruit and warm blueberry muffins before heading back on the road. Nice touch! The showers were warm and much appreciated after a few days of camping and hiking all day. We were greeted in the morning by her farm pigs and ponies, that’s a memory I will never forget!
Overall a nice place for the costs. I left early in the morning so I can not comment on the coffee and pastries that are mentioned elsewhere. The tent area was large with many good sites available and decent amounts of shade. It is an enclosure for the animals so pick a good spot away from their droppings. The animals were friendly and would graze nearby occasionally. The rooster and turkeys were noisy in the morning but it was time to get up anyways. The available outdoor shower was quite refreshing during the extreme heat.
Me and my boyfriend are OBSESSED with mommapeggs place. We wanted to go back this weekend (but the air quality is really bad from the fires right now :/ ). But we will surely be back lots.
If you are staying here: be aware it's first-come first-serve for the spots, and none are particularly secluded, especially the RV/van/car camping area. Not a bad thing, just be aware.
There are hens, piggies, mini-mules, and the absolute cutest, sweetest, friendliest, most precious kittie cat we have ever met.
Not to mention the outdoor shower. Oh my god the outdoor shower. Peggy also made everyone pastries and fruit in the morning, and snow cones on the blazing hot evening. What an experience
Amazing place to stay while exploring Yosemite for a few days. As others have mentioned the outdoor shower is the best ever. Being greeted by the pigs and mini horses in the morning was a nice treat. The best part, the gracious and welcoming host Peggy who couldn’t have been nicer to everyone staying on her property. She checked in with us every day making sure we were comfortable and enjoying ourselves. Don’t look further if you’re looking for a place to stay while exploring the parks. It’s a little bit of a drive but totally worth it.
Short but sweet
We had a wonderful little moment at Mommapeggs - the site & facilities were accommodating and Peggy was extremely sweet, literally, she treated us to homemade cinnamon rolls in the morning!
It was the nicest place we stayed on our holiday road trip :)
