Great spot for a group camping trip
We loved our visit to Mission Peak Wine. Brittni, the Host was very communicative leading up to our trip and gave us a warm welcome and lay of the land upon arrival.
We set up camp in the Clubhouse area where you'll find a firefit, grill, flush toilets, picnic table, shower, and plenty of shade under the trees. The camping area borders open space but still feels private as the main house and other structures are surrounded by lots of greenery. The structure visible in the photos behind the tent is the clubhouse, not a residence. (Currently undergoing renovation.)
Parking is available right next to the site as well, so it's easy to carry your gear over. The clubhouse area would be a great location for a larger group camping trip.
We also ventured over to "One Tree Hill" to check out the 360 views. At the top of the hill you'll find views of the Bay, Mt. Diablo, Mission Peak, the Altamont Pass, and everything in between. We brought our small 1P tent over to lounge in while taking in the views and to see what it would be like to camp at the top. Be sure to message Brittni before booking if you're interested in camping on the ridge, she may be able to make the site available if there is interest. (Please note: there are no amenities at this site along the ridge other than a great large bench)
Last but not least: The communal lake area is a dream, theres plenty of area to lounge out by the lake, and there are even canoes that you can borrow to paddle around in!
Getaway in heart of the bay area
This is a great place to camp in the heart of the Bay Area. The camp itself is in an open area, surrounded by a vineyard and the host's home which is hidden behind lots of trees. I loved the large fire pit in the middle of camp.
One Tree Hill has amazing views of the Bay Area, we were able to see as far as the Altamont Pass. The rolling hills were beautiful, definitely a great place to be at sunset. I would also highly recommend hiking Mission Peak, which is adjacent to the property! If hiking isn't your jam, check out the communal lake. Plenty of space to relax and you can paddle out in the available canoes.
Oasis in fremont
I don't want to write this review... because I don't want the news of how amazing this little oasis in Fremont is...
The property is beautiful, full of wildlife but still tidy and safe. The camping area was well equipped with hot showers, firepit, BBQ, birdwatching and vineyard views. The private lake was a wonderful spot to spend a lazy afternoon, my group fished and lounged and did not want to leave... and lastly the view from the short hike to One Tree Hill was amazing!
Brittni, the hostess, was amazing. Very easy to communicate with and went out of her way to make sure our group was happy and comfortable. We invited her to join us at the campfire and got to meet one of her Great Danes, which was a treat. (Thank you Brittni for a wonderful time!)
We will be back!
Magic times at the lake
Our trip was planned as a Father's Day surprize... camping and fishing for two outdoor daddies. We had the most incredible experience and we did not want to leave.
The lake was the perfect place for young boys to learn to fish and practise their skills. The four boys all caught fish and was feeling on top of the world.
The camp site is neat and the fairy lights and bonfire adds a touch of magic. Brittni is friendly and sent out an email with information prior to our trip which helped in planning.
Mission Peak Wine is a true gem. Loved it!
Super grateful - thanks!
