When we, Mike and Janis Tremper, bought our undeveloped rural property on the Central Coast of California, there was a troublesome jack burro that harassed our mares. We finally decided to try and corral him but he was never seen again. While the episode has sparked a lot of theories since then, it also gave us a name for the ranch: Missing Jack Ranch .

MissingJackRanch Big Sky Camp
Had a great time at MissingJackRanch Big Sky Camp. We brought our 18' travel trailer- easy in and easy out. Lots of ranch roads to run, bike, hike. Also great area for flying kites! The neighbor goats kept us entertained and our dog curious. Our only wish was that the area was still green from the previous rains, but it was already too late in the season for that.

It was so beautiful and quiet here. Can't wait to come back and stay for longer. Defianlty a steal for the price. I live in LA and just needed to get away from the city and couldn't have asked for more. Host was very informative with directions to the site. If you book this site, prepare for an amazing sunset. Also PS I see other reviews about high grass being an issue for comuting, but I have a very low BMW and had no problem at all getting to the area. It looks very maintained. Thank you again !

Panoramic views, peace and quiet, places to explore, a great hammock spot...what more could you want out of a campsite? This place is perfect and the drive from SLO was gorgeous!

Road is beaten but has growth for a long part that would brush heavily against the bottom of a sedan like it did for my Honda Civic. An off road vehicle would have no concerns getting through. Once over the hill you'll see excellent camping spots. There is a hike on the property that takes 1 hour to 1.5 hours depending on your speed and coverage, but it's very interesting exploring all the land on this property. The part you drive into is only a small percentage of it! Janis was very responsive and helped me find the place properly. Enjoyed my stay!
