Under the trees on the Southern side of Bear Mountain and a short hike to the Reservoir, this campsite is a private and cozy spot.  Access this space by hiking to Bear Mountain Camp and then up into the grove above it to the flat on the top of the hill. This site is harder to access, not recommended for novice campers. You’ll be surrounded by Manzanita trees and will see sweeping views of nearby Long Valley and Cahto Mountain.  There is no grill or firepit at this camp, but campers are welcome to use our communal kitchen at the Lanai. There is a portapotty located a 5 minute walk downhill to Sunrise camp. Since there are no showers at this site, we recommend bathing in the lake!

Currently reservation requests for this campsite are set for 3 campers. When booking the site for more than 3 guests please edit your request to reflect accurate headcount information in advance of your arrival. Additional campers are $30 per adult nightly. If you would like to organize a larger campout for groups 10+ in number please email contact @ mendocinomagic.com

***A NOTE ABOUT FIRES: Some campsites at Mendocino Magic have a firepit, but occasionally during the summer months the state bans fires for campers. We will keep you posted about the status of fires on the property when you book your reservation. Since we would hate to take campfires out of the camping experience, we have started the #onefire campaign to keep campers happy with a fire at our communal cooking area at the lanai, where on Friday and Saturday nights there will be a fire for all to enjoy. During a fire ban, please do not start a fire up at any camp's fire ring - guests who do so will be asked to leave without a refund.

I don’t think I could have more nice things to say about this trip. The campgrounds are immaculate and SO beautiful!! The shared facilities made cooking a breeze, live music Saturday night was amazing. Mackenzie was so kind to us and gave us a ride to our site as well as a 5 gal jug of water since we forgot to bring a big jug with us (there are so many water jugs around the campground it’s very convenient). Absolutely a fantastic experience - we’ll be back!!
