If you want to get away from the big, noisy, commercial campsites and enjoy some peace and tranquility among the redwoods, this is for you. I took my 8-year-old on our first mother and daughter camping trip and we loved it - especially the big swingy hammock, sitting round the communal camp fire making smores (her) and sipping red wine and chatting with other campers in the evening (me). So nice to fall asleep and wake up to the sounds of nature, rather than the people in the tent next door! We stayed on site 7. It was just big enough for our two man tent, our camp stove and a couple of chairs. The tent sites are well spaced out from each other (unless stated), so people can chill out, read a book in their hammock and not feel crowded by their neighbors. Staff are super friendly and helpful, from responding quickly to emails, to helping us get our stuff up the hill in the little mule, and making sure we had everything we needed for a short, sweet stay. You are also only minutes away from Memorial Park. Perfect for soaking your feet in the creek after a day exploring the trails.
