Awesome experience at M.C.C. Redwood Ring. Beautiful area and well-maintained campground. Communal fire was a great place to meet other campers. Camping spots are close to each other but everyone was respectful and friendly. Would recommend!

This place was really neat! It was pretty secluded from any major town/city which was nice, but the campsite was right next to a road. The campsites are very close in proximity to one another which was one thing I wasn't a fan of due to privacy but there were several community fire pits which made it easy to make friends and meet new people. One thing I was definitely not a fan of was the VERY steep hill up to the campsites. *IF* there's someone there to help you haul up your belongings/gear, that's awesome..... but on your way out, unless you can carry all of your gear in one trip (not practical) you have to make several trips up and down and up and down and .... up and down.... which can get pretty tiring. Overall, I really loved the environment of the campsite! I also got to meet some cool people with wonderful stories to tell, but I wouldn't camp here again unless I had VERY minimal gear to camp with.

We had a great time here! Love the communal fire pit area. Beautiful hikes nearby. Some of the campsites are small and very close together - would be fun to come with a larger group.

Beautiful! They layout of the campgrounds is fun & unique given that it is located on a steep hill. They have so many amenities that make the camping experience full of ease (firewood, kindling, water hose, baggage transport up the big hill). The manager gave me advice on fun little spots to hike around nearby as well, which was totally appreciated. The ONLY downside (and this is something the owners can't really control) is that there is a YMCA Camp right across the street. I heard children intensely playing and screaming all afternoon and once the night descended there was loud dubstep/pop music booming up the hillside to my camp. I'm guessing this was some sort of special event and that's not the typical experience for a camper at North Slope, but it seems worth knowing it could be a possibility.

Great campsite, Mark was an excellent host. The walk up the hill was fine, not too strenuous but we were glad Mark took the bags up for us. We stayed on pitch nr1 at Redwood Ring, nice and level and easily big enough for a 2 person tent, pitch 2 is quite close but the weekend we stayed it was empty which was a bonus. Setting is stunning, very quiet and dark. Would be good if there were a few more tree stumps to use as small tables by the pitch. The fire pit was really good and Mark left loads of kindling and paper to get it going. Would certainly recommend it and will be back next season for sure. Dick & Sara

We had a nice stay at camp site #1. It was cozy under the roof and there was lots of space for our tent. They provided plenty of firewood, including kindling. We appreciated the ride to get our stuff up the hill... it's close to the parking, but up a pretty steep hill. We really enjoyed the location in general: close to Pescadero, but secluded.

We had a very relaxing weekend. Beautiful scenery, nice and quiet campgrounds, and very polite and friendly hosts! Overall a great place to get away for a weekend, the hike up to the campsite is indeed long and steep, but we had our supplies taken up with the mule so it wasnt so bad.

This place is amazing! We were greeted and informed once we parked. The vicinity is pretty large and never felt like we were camped close to others. They mentioned having a heated shower. Theres a sheltered campfire as well as a group campfire up the hill. Over all, I dig it. Great place to bike camp if you're touring around Pescadero or Woodside.

This was an ideal site tucked away in the Redwoods close to the Pescadero Coast. If you want proximity to the ocean and to the woods, definitely stay here! The camp host was very kind and helpful in getting us settled in. It's a steep walk up to the sites, but well worth the it if you can manage it.

I had a nice one night stay here with my 3 yr old son. I packed my big backpack and we hiked in. Totally doable. Short and a bit steep. My kid made it fine with a light day pack. The sites in the Redwood Ring are smallish and Mark says 2 people are the limit, but there was a family 3 staying comfortably in one site. We enjoyed the communal campfire where we met another kid and a bunch of other interesting people. There were no bugs (late September) and neither of us got a tick. I didn't see much/any poison oak so didn't worry too much about my kid running a bit wild. (I always bring TechNu though.) Heard what I thought were deer outside the tent while sleeping, but they turned out to be nocturnal wild turkeys. When they get close you can hear the gobbling softly. Good times!

We stayed at the sheltered camp fire with two families, 9 of us in all. The site was clean, flat, and well laid out for busy food preparation. The fire pit kept us warm, we appreciated the wood and kindling supplied. The way up from the parking area had lots of paths for exploring and wasn't too hard for bringing supplies up. The staff helped with one heavy load when we arrived. The outhouse and hot shower were close by and private, very convenient. The camp is unique compared to public grounds, with hand painted signs and furniture made from rough wood. An hour drive from our home on the peninsula, highly recommended for a weekend getaway.

Great camp site and host. I would recommend packing light as the walk up to the North Slope campsites is fairly steep. Saw many deer and wild turkeys walking by our site.

My mom and I stayed here this past weekend and had a great time! Great location in proximity to Memorial Park, Pescadero Creek Park and Pescadero! My only complaint (and part of it is on me for not reading the detailed text about the camp site thoroughly) was I wish it had been more clearly stated that the fire rings are communal and a bigger point is made about the hill you must hike up to get to the camp sites. The sites themselves are beautiful and it was a great place to take a weekend refuge. William was a great host, very attentive and helpful! He even helped us move our gear up to our site and back down again at check out and gave us suggestions on where to hike while we were visiting!

Beautiful campsite, close enough to the city that it's easy to get away, but fully "woodsy" and secluded feeling. Mark and William were great - very helpful and flexible with our arrival time. They provide a lot of amenities without it feeling too glampy: water hoses and fire extinguishers jic, fire wood, benches by the communal fire pit, and the outhouse which was truly the cleanest and best stocked I've ever seen. The only downside was that the camp slots themselves are closer together than they appeared on the map, and you can totally see your neighbors - there's no privacy from about 5 other tent sites around you. That said, everyone was respectful of everyone else's space and noise levels were not a problem.

Awesome camp. Really well organized. Everything was straight forward from checking to finding the site. Stayed at site 3 and it was perfect for some privacy but close to the hammock and communal fire pit. Out house and showers were really cool...rustic but nice. William is a great host who was super helpful and extremely knowledgeable about the area and places to visit or hike. We really appreciated the help with our stuff up the hill in the 4 x 4 as it is steep. Would definitely recommend this camp to friends and/or visit again.

Everything was as advertised and GREAT! The caretaker was friendly and attentive too. The location is right off the road though and motorcycles were heard early in the morning. For those seeking the solace of wilderness check out the other spots in M.C.C. as they are further away from the road.

This campsite was awesome. We stayed at site 2, which was fairly close to site 1 and 3, but that was not a huge deal as everyone was super friendly. Will, the person who ran and maintained the campground, was nice and helpful when we first arrived as he used his kart to bring all our camp gear to our site. I would definitely recommend this campsite if you don't mind being around others for your trip.
