Amazing access to the river!!! Your own private trail and beach down to the water :)
Could have used better directions for finding the gate entrance as the road has very few markings and the number is not clearly displayed. The campsite is right next to the road as well and fairly loud with cars passing in the night, but worth it for the river access!

This is an interesting spot with both pluses and minuses.
Plus: It has a nice fence separating you from the road and giving you privacy. There is quite a bit of land sloping downhill to the river. There is a private beach as well (if you can get to it) right on the Russian River.
Minuses: The road the site is next to is super busy. Their remarks of hardly any cars at night are not accurate. I was woken up multiple times each night I was there by vehicles screaming down 160.
Getting to the beach is still gnarly. They had people there working on it while we were there and it will hopefully improve over time, but they need especially need a rope to get up and down from the beach. We had to install one we had and use it while we were there.
If you are a family with young kids I'd keep searching. This place would not work well for you. If you have older kids (like I do), then this is a fine site.
If you don't have kids and are looking for a bigger, private campsite to party and have fun at then this site will work well for you.

To noisy, great river access
This site is behind a fence, right against the road, with too many cars trucks, going bye to be restful.
Matthew was super nice, and he is doing loads of work, to make the access to the river. That was the up-side, the river is great, and warm.
Overall it wasn't what we expected.

We were so thankful to get away!! This site is private which is nice. It is super close to the road, so yes traffic starts early and do not expect a sleep in. I am not sure if I would bring small kids because there is a large drop off. It is close enough to water, but definitely not on the water. A little struggle trying to get our kayaks to the water. It was clean, saw other reviews that this was an issue, but no trash for us. Chairs and hammock were nice to have. Roomy for tents. No cell service, which was great for us to put our phones down. It was nice when the traffic dies down at night and you could enjoy the trees, crickets, and campfire! With limited available camping, we were happy to have this space!

Charming river hideaway
We had a great time! The beach is accessible by a meandering trail through the trees from the upper level of the property. The water is deep enough to swim and float, and there is a rock jumping spot upstream just past the river bank. At the campsite we were able to fit 5 tents and 5 cars, including an Astro van. The parking turnout adjacent to the property outside the fence is also large enough for at least 2 RV's. We spent an entire day at the beach. It's a scenic spot amidst redwood trees above the river, and there is plenty of room to have a bonfire and stretch out. It's located between Duncans Mills and Monte Rio by Guerneville so it is just several minutes to the store and 13 minutes to the ocean. Matt was very accommodating and quick to respond to all inquiries. Really appreciate the host and the space!
