Hipcampers can enjoy the multi-level tiered property overlooking the Russian River. River access with two private beaches accessible by trails through the property with the very popular Villa Grande beach also relatively close. Campsite comes with a full size hammock,, a fire pit and a horse shoe pit. The property also features a an island accessible from the property that you can hike through to get to the river . Close by are hikes at Armstrong Woods, Jenner, surfing, fishing, swimming, golfing, wine country, etc. Please note the site is close to the highway and although there is a fence it can get noisy during the day but is generally quite by nighttime hours. Small children should also be monitored as it is steep going down to the river.

Places to see near Matthew M.’s Land
If you stayed here and have some insider info for us, let us know!
We're so glad we got to be the first one's to stay on Matthew's new listing! The plot of land is right on the road, but the high fence provides great privacy and the traffic completely stopped overnight. In addition to the street level area, there is also a beautiful forest we agreed exploring and camping in between the street and the River. It's a short hike down to the beautiful Russian River - would recommend going for a swim! We also appreciated that it's dog friendly - our two dogs had a wonderful time.
Charming river hideaway
We had a great time! The beach is accessible by a meandering trail through the trees from the upper level of the property. The water is deep enough to swim and float, and there is a rock jumping spot upstream just past the river bank. At the campsite we were able to fit 5 tents and 5 cars, including an Astro van. The parking turnout adjacent to the property outside the fence is also large enough for at least 2 RV's. We spent an entire day at the beach. It's a scenic spot amidst redwood trees above the river, and there is plenty of room to have a bonfire and stretch out. It's located between Duncans Mills and Monte Rio by Guerneville so it is just several minutes to the store and 13 minutes to the ocean. Matt was very accommodating and quick to respond to all inquiries. Really appreciate the host and the space!
The site has potential
The site is a wide spot in the road with a nice fence around it.
The view from this site is lovely.
The site needs to be cleaned up before it can be recommended. At one end was a pile of debris, at the other end was a trash can with trash that had spilled out when it blew over and in the middle was a collection of ratty old chairs and a table.
We paid way too much money for this site and felt taken advantage of
We chose the campsite for the area, and because it allowed dogs. There was enough space to pitch a tent and it was surrounded by redwoods, but you are about 50 feet away from the road on the other side of the fence. The traffic quiets down around ~10 pm and starts up before 6 am. There's also still a pile of trash and debris in plain view. The lot is narrow, with the fence on one side and a drop off on the other side, which made it difficult for us to relax with 2 kids. With all the campsites closed due to the pandemic, we were grateful to have a place to spend a couple of nights, but we spent very little time at the actual campsite because it was not a restful spot.
We were so thankful to get away!! This site is private which is nice. It is super close to the road, so yes traffic starts early and do not expect a sleep in. I am not sure if I would bring small kids because there is a large drop off. It is close enough to water, but definitely not on the water. A little struggle trying to get our kayaks to the water. It was clean, saw other reviews that this was an issue, but no trash for us. Chairs and hammock were nice to have. Roomy for tents. No cell service, which was great for us to put our phones down. It was nice when the traffic dies down at night and you could enjoy the trees, crickets, and campfire! With limited available camping, we were happy to have this space!
To noisy, great river access
This site is behind a fence, right against the road, with too many cars trucks, going bye to be restful.
Matthew was super nice, and he is doing loads of work, to make the access to the river. That was the up-side, the river is great, and warm.
Overall it wasn't what we expected.
