Amazing views
Hipcampers say this spot has amazing views.
This land has been a community gathering space for the Native's Ceremony and Healing Space for over a thousand years. Feast your eyes upon the Matates and traces of the people that once gathered here so long ago. Upon the mid 1800's we had a Settler named Nate Harrison find this to be the ideal space, and he set up homestead here, and lived an amazing full life. He was to become the first African American to aquire land here in San Diego County, and his homestead remains to this day; studied by archaeology students to this day. Sensitive habitat and magic lies within our gates, and we must approach the mountain as we would any sacred space; with RESPECT. We welcome you to enjoy Nate's land and inspire who you are deep inside your heart.

Glamptent w/2 beds
Glamping in the mountains is great!
We had a great time Glamping at Harrison Serenity Ranch! My daughter and I stayed in a tent that had two beds that were very comfortable. It made packing so easy, because we didn't have to pack our tents, sleeping bags or anything like that. The beds had nice pillows and down comforters that kept us warm and cozy at night. The sheets were soft too! There was a little night stand with a lantern too, which made it so helpful for when we got in our tent in the dark at night. The Glamp tent was on a raised platform, so we weren't directly on the ground. There was two folding tables and four chairs set up at our camp site. There was also a nice firepit with a shovel right outside of our tent. We were happy to be provided with the Buddy Heater and propane to keep us warm at night when the snow and freezing temperatures happened. There was space to park my truck near too. A Port-a-Potty was near too, in case we needed to use a bathroom. Right near our tent was a Yoga Deck that had incredible views down into Pauma Valley. I totally loved hiking around the property and being in nature. So much beauty on the land, with lush trees, rocks and wildflowers. We loved petting the three horses that live there at the Ranch and we also got to feed carrots to the horses. Gregory the Goat was awesome too, as well as Shadow the dog. The Camp Host Vicki and Kari were so hospitable and lovely! Nicole was also great. We look forward to camping at Harrison Serenity Ranch again!

Camping at Harrison Serenity Ranch
Great idea for a camping spot. Beautiful views depending on where they place you. However, they have trash scattered all over the area. They also had three horses that roam the grounds. They are nice but they also leave poop gifts everywhere that are not cleaned up so be prepared to take care of it yourself. The road in isn’t as scary as the other feedback says. Just take it slow and it’s fine. Depending on how you drive in you’d probably go through Palomar mtn which is a better spot to stay in my opinion. We won’t likely go back but appreciate allowing us to stay.

Good property
Property was beautiful and the host was kind and pleasant. HOWEVER, do not attempt to drive to this property with a sedan. It’s incredibly risky especially in wet/cold weather. I also called the host many times Sunday before checkout with no answer or call back.

A new favorite.
Just a perfect campsite an hour and a half from San Diego. Lots of lush plants and animals to interact with. Amazingly helpful people from Karina to Vickie.

Camping at Harrison Serenity Ranch
Beautiful, Challenging Place!
Harrison Serenity Ranch was amazingly beautiful! Dogs greeted us. The landscape was heavenly! A lot of lovely small touches around the property that made it really special. Spectacular views. Unfortunately we only were able to stay one of the two nights we booked there. We were in an RV -that wasn't a 4 wheel drive, & it was majorly challenging to get to the place on the narrow, steep, dirt road. This definitely would be fine with another type of vehicle but it was a little tenuous with the RV we had rented. A storm was coming. So we left early to avoid possibly getting stuck in the mud. Definitely a gem of a place though! Get yourself a 4 wheel drive & make the trip there!
