Staging area and Shade is further from the river than the other locations. Campfires and camping by the water would be a short walk. But it is a very Beautiful and Private location that easily serves larger groups.

If looking for Beach Camping for smaller groups look for my "Lower Yuba River Camping" listing.

We met Roy upon arrival who was very helpful. He showed us around the property and different campsites. We were the only campers that weekend and got the choice of stay at any of the three campsites on his property, which was cool. After taking a look at our options we ended up sticking with our original booked site because it was much more private. The campsite was by an oak tree which gave us good shade when it was 94 degrees out. The river which is a few minutes walk was across a field of rocks. The river itself was super nice and clean. We got to cool off during the day with a quick dip. One of the downsides of the location was the constant dirtbikes cruising along the other side of the river and constant gunshot noises down the river. It wasn't a big deal nor did we feel unsafe at any point, it was just noise pollution we could have done without. Also, note that driving down to the locations requires some off-roading. Its pretty easy, but you'll need some good clearance driving over the rocks. Overall it was a good time and the site was good.

There is a public road across the river that is used by off road vehicles, they are not supposed to leave the road, but they do. There are not supposed to be guns, especially target shooting, DFG will arrest you. From time to time you will hear shots, true pretty much anywhere in N. California woods. I do see more people being ticketed and arrested across the river these days for a variety of violations. Seems like they are trying to take control back. Midweek is always quiet, weekends are hit or miss. Of course weekends like 4th of July will always have a lot of people on the river.

The site was under a big oak tree, and you can get to the water in a couple minutes walking. The host was super friendly and gave me some fishing tips. I’ll definitely be going back.

Roy was an amazing host that warmly welcomed us upon our arrival. He respected our privacy and left us to our trip. To get to the water you’ll have to walk to the bank crossing many rocks but once there you’ll be rewarded with a great view. We didn’t fish but we sat there watching salmon swim against the stream. We hope to return soon.

Not normally a camper, but I have to say I had a wonderful time at this campground. The secluded campsite under a shady tree overlooking the river bed was beautiful! A three-minute walk from our tent, and we’re on the river. There were even places along the river for fire pits (s’mores!!). Roy was also very hospitable and accommodating. He answered all of my questions and made our camping experience even better. I will absolutely be back!
