The vibe at The Desert Isle

My group of friends and I had a wonderful time at the Desert Isle, complete with a meteor shower at night and refreshing time in the pool during the hot desert day. Julie and Mike are very sweet and welcoming, and even gave us a great recommendation for hiking in the area. The property has a fun, funky, hippie vibe, and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay!
This is really a hippie paradise! Mikey and Julie are lovely, really nice people. We loved sleeping in the desert isle, you will feel like if you were the only survivor in the world. Seeing the sunrise from the bed is a unique experience. Don't think too much, leave your problems at the gate and just enjoy the nature experience.
Lovelight Ranch is very beautiful! Cool atmosphere, nice people, and great facilities. The restroom was especially nice. The Desert Isle is awesome. Comfy bed, very cool setup. Ideal for relaxing in the shade.
There are definitely a lot of dogs. They're mostly super sweet, but one of them kept barking at us from outside the hut all night while we were trying to sleep. So if you don't like dogs, this probably isn't the place for you. Also, the barky dog was pretty unfriendly to my dog, so we had to keep her on leash so the dog couldn't get to her.
Awesome place, the dogs just weren't jiving with us.
Julie was beyond nice and helpful! She provided us with fresh linens for the bed and a tour of the property. The dogs on the property were a lot of fun and very playful! It was secluded enough to feel a break from the city hustle and bustle and it was nice to sleep under the desert stars.
Super cool campground. Julie has really made this place special. We spent the day in Joshua Tree and then came back to the grounds around 6 PM, where we were greeted by friendly dogs and the beauty of the desert sunset. The clean bathroom (with running water) and swingset are a HUGE plus. I would recommend for a quirky, quiet, and safe place to sleep.
