10/10, loved everything about it.
Absolutely wonderful experience with amazing hosts. The views are stellar and the atmosphere is perfect. We rented the trailer and it was perfect!
More importantly my three year old had the time of her life. She got to do some gardening, ride a tractor and hang out with the animals among a million other things.
Shanna is the world's best host. She is hilarious kind and compassionate. My daughter was all over her during the trip and Shanna did nothing but welcome her and show her true kindness. Her husband Garth showed up the next morning after work and was a really welcoming and awesome as well. They really do make you feel like family.
Oh and the pigs....the freaking pigs. RUB their bellies people. They deserve it. I love those pigs. And the goats, and the llamas and the donkeys. Well all the animals were so calm and wonderful.
This place was amazing! With the sounds of roosters, 2 big ol pigs, baby goat and so many more animals that love to love! Th trailer itself was nice and cozy, just what we needed. A warm place to put down our heads. They had a nice warm shower as well! Recommend staying here if you need a little break from everyday life.
Lovely and welcoming stay
We had a lovely Memorial Day stay at Love Creek Sanctuary! Shanna was very welcoming and helpful, from providing extra blankets and helping us get our campfire started, to introducing us to the many, many sweet animals that live at the sanctuary. The RV was comfortable and clean; the shower and bathroom were just a short distance away (with nice hot water and fresh towels!). Sunset is beautiful, and the place is so peaceful to surround yourself with the sounds of nature and happy, well-cared for animals. Thanks so much for the stay, and for all you guys do for these animals!
Sweet, friendly ambassadors~
I made a few friends here and I am sorry I don't remember names. The little goat was the first one to check me out. I was sitting on a chair, talking to him, and he got up on the other chair and sat down to listen to me for a bit.
The donkey was also quite delightful. He followed me around like a puppy, even though I made it clear I didn't have any carrots for him. He seemed fine with that.
The little trailer had a very comfortable bed!
Staying and Love Creek Sanctuary was an absolute dream! Our stay began being greeted by a herd of adorable and curious alpacas. We had so much fun with the llamas, goats, chickens, pigs, cows, donkeys and alpacas and loved feeding them carrots.
It was great that this location is dog friendly as we brought our dog and the alpacas and llamas were absolutely enthralled with him. Turns out the best way to get a good picture of farm animals is to use your miniature poodle as bait hahaha.
The trailer was comfortable and warm, even in near freezing weather and we enjoyed a wonderful tour of the farm from the hosts two young nieces :)
Love creek is an absolute gem
We had wonderful time staying in the trailer at Love Creek. I was worried about being cold, but the camper had a lovely plug in radiator that quickly heated it up, as well as plenty of blankets.
The real joy is seeing all of the animals; I think about two dozen adorable alpaca? Plus so many other animals with interesting histories; a 26 year old llama, goats, pigs, guinea fowl, donkeys, cows, chickens, and a cat. They literally roam the whole property as they please and are quite friendly.
It was convenient to have a basic kitchenette in the trailer to cook with, and heading to downtown (with plenty of restaurants and micro brew options) was a simple 18 minute drive.
The star gazing and nighttime symphony of local crickets etc was made all the more wonderful by the company of the animals bedded down and on watch nearby.
I highly recommend visiting Love Creek Sanctuary. Your visit helps support all the animals who have taken refuge here and found a wonderful home.
An experience you dont want to miss
This was by far one of the best camping experiences we ever had. Shanna and Garth were so accommodating from booking till we drove back home. A few days before our reservation, Shanna very considerately reached out and asked if we wanted to reschedule our booking, because the weather forecast said it would be rainy. We decided to keep our reservation and make the most of our stay regardless of the weather, and it ended being an amazing weekend! We booked the listing to stay in their trailer - the trailer was cozy, and had everything we needed and more. It is perfect for 2 adults to stay in comfortably, and comes with a bed, small couch and table, as well as a sink and stove. Shanna, Garth, and all of their animals were very welcoming, and always made sure to check in and see if there was anything we needed, while at the same time giving us our space. It was such a treat to get to hang out with the friendly pigs, goats, donkey, alpacas, llama, sheep, etc! There is a BBQ and campfire, as well as a bathroom in the mudroom. This was a special way to get away from our busy lives for a few days, and we cant wait to go back. Thank you Love Creek Sanctuary for this memorable stay!
Just an incredible experience all around. The hosts were wonderful, the trailer was clean and comfortable, but the real icing on the cake is all the HAPPY ANIMALS! We got to give belly rubs to the pigs, feed carrots to the donkey that loved to follow us around, be surrounded by alpacas, pet goats, and give good scratches to the cows. What an incredible experience! We loved every minute of it!
This camping trip was spur of the moment, we had planned to go to the coast but seeing as it was Memorial Day weekend and we’re poor planners there were NO reservations available! Shocking, I know. We found Hipcamp and stumbled across Love Creek Sanctuary, THANKFULLY! We really couldn’t have had a better time on Shanna and Garth’s farm. They were both so welcoming and friendly, no wonder they have 100% approval rating! We honestly can’t wait to go back!!
