---- COVID-19 update ------ We will only allow for one camping group at a time in each area and are limiting groups to 10 people. Be aware, we have worked hard to open slightly to allow for 2 tent groups, one RV and up to 2 people in our trailer. We have at least a 1/4 acre for each “site”, this allows for more than enough privacy and social distancing. We ask for parents to remind their children to give adequate space or wear masks. Please be prepared to take additional precautions for keeping our common areas sanitized.  Thank you!

We have opened one spot to park your trailer or van upon request to enjoy the sunset, watch the animals on the sanctuary or use it a home base to explore the Sierra Foothills. We are centrally located between Grass Valley and Auburn, giving you access to endless recreational activities, wineries, breweries and restaurants.

We have 50 or so rescued farm animals, you can interact with our pig Hank, Mojo the goat or Teddy the alpaca.

---- We are a working farm - PLEASE READ -----

There are donkeys, roosters, dogs and peacocks that make noise, sometimes at night and always early in the morning.  Please be aware that you may hear the donkeys bray (usually lasts about 30 seconds) and roosters crow. It is startling and will wake you up. We do our best to keep the dogs hushed but we cannot stop the donkeys, roosters and peacocks from doing their thing.  If you are a light sleeper, please select another wonderful Hipcamp in our area, thank you!

In addition to the interesting sounds you will hear, you will encounter dirt, poop and spiders. Since we are a working farm, things get dirty.  We spray all high tough surfaces twice a day but things get dirty and when it rains it is muddy.  Please plan accordingly.

NOTE: Starting July 1st, we have replaced all of our wood fire pits with gas fire pits.  We have increased our prices to help cover the costs of propane.  Thank you for choosing us!

This spot far exceeded my expectations! I arrived really late and Shanna was up to guide me in. The alpacas and donkey slept nearby. In the morning, Donkey escorted me to the house in exchange for behind the ear scratches. After a day of adventure, I returned to this charming, quiet spot and met the rest of the animals and heard their stories. When a giant pig comes over and rolls on it’s side for belly scratches, how can one refuse? My final morning there was an alpaca parade in front of my camper while I drank my coffee. A few curious ones came over to sniff me and the drink. What a way to start the day!

A word of caution - you are sharing your space with large animals. Choose your footwear appropriately!

If you are looking to relax and giggle a lot when the farm animals nudge your trailer or peek in the windows, this is your place! Mid May and we had rain and wind. We didn’t mind, we walked the farm in our galoshes and enjoyed the fresh air. The animals are amazing. Very tender and sweet. My personal favorites; Bo, the Donkey, Teddy the Alpaca and Petey the old goat. My heart is full. Our hosts Shanna and Garth we personable, welcoming and FUN. Already encouraged family to visit!

We parked our rented 32 ft. RV for the night on this beautiful farm amid the farm animals near the barn. The pigs, the donkey, the lamas, and the goats (to name a few) interacted with our kids (6 and 8) who loved being around the animals. The kids fed the animals and ran around the farm for hours. They also did not ask for their iPads during our entire stay - a real win for this family. The host is a patience ninja who took the time to talk to us and our kids about the animals and helped us get settled.

Shanna and Garth have a wonderful farm that takes you away to rolling hills and great scenery. You forget that your in Grass valley and not out in the country! Close by to Nevada City, this was a great weekend stay!

We brought our travel trailer and Shanna had a flat piece of land by the barn. The farm animals were wandering around upon our arrival and the kids loved it. The goats, pigs, alpacas, chickens, donkeys and others animals, along with the sunset, is what made the trip so enjoyable. The host was very welcoming and even set up a private gas fireplace for us. There was a nice bathroom in the mud room, with a shower, so we didn’t need to fill our black water tank, and they let us dump our grey water in the grass. Overall we had a great time and would definitely recommend to anyone who wants to visit a small farm of rescued animals and avoid the typical overcrowded campsite experience.

So peaceful! Fantastic view- awesome hosts. It was our first RV experience and we learned so much. If you love animals you will love this camp site- lots to see nearby and just hanging out with our dogs and grilling was the best!

Shana and Garth are great hosts! Very welcoming, you can tell they really care about all their animals. They let you interact with them if you’re interested as well. We kept our small dog on a leash and he was just fine with the chickens roaming the property. We had a wonderful stay and would consider returning when we’re headed that way again!

Shanna and Garth were fantastic hosts, extremely polite, super helpful, and just fun to be around. They had crafts there for our kiddos and also let us feed all the animals which was a TON of fun.
