We are an emerging permaculture-inspired ecovillage one easy mile out of the town of Laytonville. Camp #2 has a fire pit and rustic benches and several clearings for tents. You can drive right up to the site. There's an outhouse and hand-washing station next to the camp.

At the main site we have an outdoor solar shower, fire pit, rustic picnic tables, clean water, wi-fi, and some additional amenities. Because of social distancing we can't allow you to use the outdoor kitchen other than filling your water bottles.

Please note that we cannot accommodate arrivals later than 8pm.

Electric Vehicle charging station now available at the main house.

There is poison oak on the land. If you stay on the main trails and the campsites it's easy to stay out of, but you're in nature and it's possible that some could sprout in areas that have been cleared.

Remember: pack it in, pack it out.

Dan has put a lot of thought into his hipcamp; the amenities are above par for the price. Unfortunately, there seems to be a multigenerational family of crows who also love these amenities. They are pretty boisterous which didn’t make it a peaceful evening. It’s right off the highway but tucked away in the woods, making it a nice stop on a road trip.

It was beautiful and lovely, though noisier at night than we had expected. Very peaceful, very healthy vibes from the landowner and the host. We all slept well. Definitely will return sometime. Magical watershed!

We've never, ever had an issue with noise here other than deer making noise at 2am! Not sure where this came from.

This was a great spot for a weekend away. The area is beautiful and we'll kept. Lots of room between campsites so we never felt crowded, and weren't too worried about bothering our neighbors. We didn't see too much of Dan, but he was friendly and helpful when we did. The communal area near the entrance was very charming and the shower was beautiful. Our trip was during the social distancing resulting from COVID, so the communal kitchen was closed except for drinking water, but I can imagine it being a nice place to eat, hangout, and socialize with other camp groups. It was a small walk from campsite 2 and the drinking water, but it wasn't a problem. There is a fair amount of poison oak immediately off the established trails, but none in the cleared areas. The outhouse uses a bucket system, which required a but more maintanance than I was used to, but Dan was very upfront about that and it wasn't a big deal for us.
We had a great time and the site was lovely. I wholeheartedly reccommend it!

So nice to get our family out in nature after months of sheltering in place. We loved the location and the outdoor shower.

We were only passing through on the way to OR., so we didn’t get a chance to settle in and check things out. Dan greeted us on arrival, he seemed kind of annoyed that I hadn’t read the arrival directions thoroughly, which made me feel a little unwelcome initially. I was driving a 32 foot RV and felt more comfortable asking in person when I arrived about where to put my rig. He was very accommodating and gave us a beautiful place to park for the night as we were just sleeping and leaving early in the morning. As we left in the morning, I noticed how lovely the property was and the campsites looked beautiful.

We really enjoyed our stay! The campsite was very private with lots of space between us and campers at the other two sites. Dan was very friendly, also there were wonderful blackberry bushes that our toddler loved picking berries from. Great swimming holes nearby off of 101!
