Great private space that felt remote but was easy to access by car. Dan was a great host and was very quick with regards to communication. The property is very spacious, there's lots of distance between the sites which was very nice. I really appreciate the community feel he's looking to build and very grateful he opened up this new, third site. We'll definitely be coming back.

Dan's property is beautiful and he was very welcoming host. He welcomed us upon arrival at our beautiful site complete with redwood benches and dry wood and newspaper to start our own fire. We had a good amount of privacy from the other campsite and the compost toilet was a short, but not too close walk away :)

It's worth noting that there is a reasonable amount of poison oak on the property (and in Mendocino in general), that was a challenge for our toddler who tended to meander around the outside of our camp and trails. That being said, the trails to and from the common area, toilet and our camp site were well maintained and decorated with cool wooden structures

I appreciate what they're trying to do here, and Dan and Cameron do a good job at keeping things clean and well-organized. Dan does not appreciate drop-ins, so beware.

Dan's HipCamp was the perfect escape to relax and unwind! The directions were easy to understand, check-in was simple (self check-in) and the campsite was clean and maintained (they even supply firewood for the fire pit).

The communal kitchen was really nice to have available for washing dishes, refilling water bottles, etc. and there was a solar powered shower (hot water) you could use as well.

Overall, the trip was great, Dan was a very welcoming and kind host, and we recommend and will be back again :)

Also, special shout-out to Cameron (team member) who treated us to a beautiful rendition of Fleetwood Mac's Landslide with us :) Thanks for the mini concert Cameron!

The site was well marked and clean. Nice benches around a fire pit. We were greeted by music as the "grounds keeper" strolled up to our campsite with his guitar. Nice guy with a great voice. The Laytonville Ecovillage is a well planned permaculture-type up-and-coming intentional development with a house and lots for sale. The forest is a mix of coastal and valley trees that are thoughtfuly managed. Many birds and some deer. We met Dan, the owner, in the morning and ended up getting a late start to our trip because Dan is so intersting to talk to. Smart guy. Laytonville is a good mid-point to the coast, wine country, or redwoods. Cooler than the valley. The town is small, but has a great coffee shop.

We stopped in Laytonville on our way to Humboldt so it was a quick one night trip. Directions were clear, as we read them very carefully navigating at night. The site was an eco friendly space, included a wood burning fire pit, and inspiring for those interested in homesteading. There was also a community space on the property that would be good for larger groups. Dan was a friendly host and very informative on living up north. I would certainly book another stay here again
