This is a beautiful 16 ft canvas Bell Tent surrounded by forest above a wild canyon with a small creek and hiking trails. (Note: the creek is not as full as in the pictures when it is late Summer/Fall). It has everything you need including a queen size bed with all of the bedding, LED lights, and places to relax inside and outside. Downtown Grass Valley is an 8 minute drive away. Behind the tent there is a bath house with a hot shower, a composting toilet, and a space to prepare meals with a stove and small fridge.
We live on a 3 acre property on the edge of beautiful woodpecker canyon which is up in the Sierra Nevada foothills just outside the towns of Grass Valley (8 min drive) and Nevada City (13 min drive). Many people consider Nevada City to be the most beautiful and quaint small town in California, and Grass Valley to be the second, see the link below: (URL HIDDEN) Both Nevada City and Grass Valley have an incredible selection of creative and quality restaurants, coffee shops, galleries, and shops.
There are places to do every kind of mountain and fresh water sport within our vicinity being that some of the most beautiful lakes and rivers in the state are surrounding us, and we are so close to the high sierra: The Yuba and Bear rivers are a 20 min drive, Rollins Lake is a 15 min drive, and we are a 45 min drive from the high Sierra Nevada. We also have great wineries and wine tasting in the area. Lucchesi winery is a very short drive away.
The bath house is located just behind the bell tent site and it has electricity for charging phones and for using the stove and fridge. There are solar lights along the path that help illuminate the walk from the tent at night. The bell tent itself does not have electricity but is very comfortable for hanging out and reading with strong LED lanterns. There is a beautiful fire pit outside of the tent with chopped wood and a metal grill if you want to cook over it. We have two camping mats available in addition to the queen size bed that can be for two more adults or two children. The extra adults or children will need to bring their own bedding.
The bath house has an electric stove, a few pots and pans, utensils, bowls, small plates, cups, wine glasses, a french press, and salt and pepper.
The door to the bell tent has a mosquito net but please bring mosquito protection and extra layers if you want to be on the porch around sunset in MAY & JUNE.

The vibe at Lantern Creek Bell Tent
If you stayed here and have some insider info for us, let us know!
Lantern Creek Tent was very magical to say the least. The Tent was so beautiful and spacious it feels like you were on a spaceship. My Favorite part of camping in this tent was when at night you can hear the river while the crickets and the silence of the night creates an echo inside the tent and its a very surreal feeling. This place is fire pit friendly so you can never go wrong with that. This place is so out in nature and so quite that you can literally hear your own thoughts. Super peaceful place and Jillie the property owner is super chill. Pro Tip: This place holds a hidden gem. That gem is a trail that leads you to a swimming hole that runs down from the river, take a dip and call it a day.
A pretty and peaceful spot. The canvas cabin is spacious and is a great place to lay around but nearby Nevada City and Grass Valley can keep you busy. Having an enclosed kitchen with electricity made making meals really easy. The owners have carved out a cozy, convenient, and comfy spot where you can watch deer browse during the day and enjoy the stars while you are hanging around your own firepit at night. My family was sad to leave.
