Slug Acres is a tiny campground I'm in the process of creating overlooking the Pacific Ocean.  Its a piece of Heaven where the Navarro River meets the Ocean and only minutes away from the Navarro River Redwoods State park.  Banana Slugs love to live under the canopy of Redwood trees and other Majestic Pines and are often found on my property, hence the name of your future camping destination.  At night you will enjoy sleeping by the sound of the waves from the Pacific that carry up thru a gully from small stream that flows on the perimeter of my place.  In the distance you will hear the faint soothing sound of the Fog Horn to the entrance of the Albion River harbor.

Campfire site is a 8 x 8 camping platform nicely separated from the other campers but the entire 2 acres will be yours to choose your designated spot for the evening.  This site is particularly nice because you can pull up and park right next to your site.  It is also right next to the campfire pit.  I've built a basic outdoor kitchen and a compostable toileting system that will be shared between the two sites.  I will have a large battery with a small amount of energy stored in it but plan on living off the grid.  Ultimately my goal is to create a emission free camp site but there is also a eco friendly generator if energy needs are a requirement for your stay.

There are many wonderful things to say about the property and my personal favorite is that it's usually insect free.  It's pretty rare to experience a nasty mosquito.  Even better there are no wild animals that will eat your food at night, aside from the occasional chipmunk.  Wild turkeys, deer and woodpeckers often wander aimlessly around the grounds, all harmless and entertaining, especially the babies.

The Navarro River State Beach is just 1.3 miles from my property.  You can walk there but Highway 1 can be a little busy especially on the weekends.  So I suggest driving to the entrance and parking there.  The Navarro Redwood park is just a bit farther and where George Lucas filmed the scene in Star Wars in the Ewok village.  There are so many other state parks and cities too explore nearby.  The Elk store is about 4 miles away for your basic needs or a delicious sandwich.

Many times I will be onsite for your stay to make sure your stay is a pleasant one.  I'm an eccentric character that wears my hats.  In particular after years working in Emergency room medicine I transitioned into becoming an international boat captain and as a side project create large concrete sculptures.  I've lived along the Mendocino coast for 14 years and happy to share all the secret exploring sites along the coast.  However, once settled in I will probably find my way of the outskirts of Slug Acres to let you feel like you have your very own campground.  By renting my space you will be supporting a Dream.  One of creating an off grid paradise that will better the experience of future campers... Hope to see your Tent pitched on my property soon..

Great stay for us to getaway when there was heavy smoke and ash in the Bay Area. The site was very clean and accessible by 2WD. It is right off the highway and main road so you do hear some road traffic throughout the night, but nothing too unbearable. The large trees kept it from being too windy still allowing the site to be cooler and still sunny. Our dogs loved being able to run around freely though do be careful of the main road. It is a short distance from our site to the road (you can see the cars and headlights clearly from the site). It was nice having a fire pit, even if we were just using the tree stumps as makeshift stools. The kitchen was also a nice amenity though we did not really use it much besides to wash our dishes. The outhouse was convenient and worked well for our time there.

Kyle was super friendly and a great host. He has a vision for what he would like to redesign his camp spots and his cabin to look like and I'm excited to see what he has in store for the future.

A great little spot in a convenient location near highways 1 and 128. The campfire site has a really nice fire ring that is a great place to sit around at night. The tent platform was nice but our 4-person tent ended up being a bit too big to use it, so we set up on the flat land next to it. The kitchen has a few basics and a convenient dish washing setup, though the supplies are pretty limited so we ended up using our own cooking gear, stove, and dishes. All in all, this is a great little spot for camping along the Mendocino coast. I'd definitely stay again!

We loved staying on Kyle's land! He was extremely friendly and welcomed us when we got there after dark to show us around. The campsite is big and flat and we had our own fire pit and the very clean outhouse toilet was nearby. Wonderful views and very peaceful.

Kyle was a wonderful host and we were excited to be the first people to stay at his property! It was equipped with two beautiful platforms, one with a gorgeous ocean view. Only 5 minutes down to Navarro Beach, the location was perfect. Kyle had a fire pit for us and even a kitchen setup and tons of options for power which we did not expect!
Kyle gave us lots of recommendations and was there to help and make sure we had a good time.
