The vibe at King's Creek
Thank you to a wonderful host in our local mountains!!! The fire pit and the full moon were spectacular!!
Very cool campsite for those looking to have your own space. The hill driving into the campsite should only be attempted with an SUV or truck. One of our party brought a sedan and the host was nice enough to load all his stuff in their car and ferry him down the hill. The campsite is really just a fire pit surrounded by tree covered grass and dirt. Very basic and exactly what we were looking for. There is an outhouse a couple minutes walk from the main campsite. During the day we took a few different hikes exploring the property, which used to be a boyscout camp. There are a few abandoned structures and fairly well maintained hiking trails to explore. The hosts had a couple of dogs that hung around during the day just doing dog stuff. The campsite is in a valley so there wasn't much wind when we were there. There were also almost no bugs, we saw one or two mosquitos and no flies even though we were cooking out in the open. This may have been because it was March and slightly chilly. The hosts also drew us a map of the property and it was surprisingly very accurate and we were able to find all the landmarks easily. The hosts were also very friendly and after explaining the topography just let us do our own thing. You won't get any cell service at the camp (or even in the town around the camp) so be prepared for that. You'll probably only want to drive down that hill when you arrive and leave so bring anything you need with you. I would definitely recommend this spot for a group looking to rough it.

Thank you for coming to King's Creek and the informational review.
My crew and I produced a short film at King’s Creek and we were thrilled with the location for our shoot. Not only was the location perfectly beautiful but the host, Carlotta, was incredibly accommodating and kind. Carlotta was very generous with helping me and my crew in any way, whether it was getting phone service/internet to providing us water. Not only were the campsites very spacious and safe, but you will be amazed by the stars in the night sky! Carlotta was an incredible host and I would definitely recommend camping out on her land. I guarantee a wonderful, adventurous stay!
