Thank you for visiting our listing!

We have cultivated our working family farm to be a sanctuary - a place for people to feel the love of the earth, and what it has to offer us. Spectacular skies surround the farm, with roaming chickens, crowing roosters and vegetables, medicinal herbs, and fruits growing - a living model of what is beautiful AND possible in life.

The cozy TeePee has a vibe of it's own, and sits beside a sweet, peaceful pond, outdoor sitting area, and fire pit. There is plenty of room for additional tents and RV's. The convenience of accessible electricity, running toilets, hot water shower, gas grill and an additional covered sitting area make your camping adventure that much more comfortable.

Super convenient to get here! We're less than 20 miles from the Sacramento Airport, and just a few minutes off of Interstate 5. Yet you'd never know it once you get to the farm and feel the peace and quiet.

There are a few options available here at the farm - as follows...

 - Tent site (no TeePee) - $50 per night, up to 4 people

 - RV hook up - $50 per night

 - Just want to park and sleep? - $25 per night

We're looking forward to seeing you soon!

Additional note....Life on the farm is calm, peaceful and easy... operating with the natural rhythm of the sun cycle. What few clocks we do have, are stuck on twenty minutes past four.

We are also family and kid friendly.

Absolutely loved our stay at the Kimball Farm!! It was peaceful, beautiful and a real "getaway" for my daughter and I. Just sleeping in the TeePee was such an adventure...as well as a great opportunity for a dialog between my 8 year old daughter about native american culture - and the history of the area. We loved that the farm is a real working farm - with so many things ready for harvest - we were able to see how a real farm operates! The peace and quiet (and so easily accessible) was perfect for us - providing a nice time to decompress. The hot shower and bathroom made our camping stay more comfortable - as well as knowing that we were still close enough to "civilization" if we needed that (we didn't!). Wonderful, memorable time both adventurous and educational - as well as welcoming and gracious hosts that gave us plenty of space, while still being accessible if we needed them. Looking forward to returning as soon as possible! Thank you Kimball Family for providing such a beautiful space!!

Staying at the Kimball Farm was a lifetime experience. I strongly recommend this place for anyone, it is a true sanctuary. It's the perfect trip if you want to escape from the city a while. We had a wonderful stay with two of my friends. Sleeping in a teepee is a unique experience. We fitted two mattress. Stewart and his family was kind enough to help us lighting up the fire camp, we learned few tricks. There is all kinds of animals in the farm. We stayed around the fire chatting with Stewart and his daughter. I would definitely come back.

My friend and I had a great time staying in the teepee. George (Stewart's father) was a lovely host and took the time to tell us about his farm and the surrounding area. Even though it rained we stayed dry inside in the teepee, and everything for a campfire was provided (though we brought our own wood). Would definitely recommend this for an alternative experience to camping!

What an incredible experience! The Kimball's were kind, knowledgeable, and went above and beyond what we expected. The tepee was quaint, tidy and had EVERYTHING you could need for a getaway. The cabin is only 20 short minutes to Woodland Ca, where you can go explore the old town and have something good to eat. Overall, this was the getaway we were looking for and we couldn't have picked a better place to spend it. Thank you Kimball family, we will be back :)

Private working farm with a number of chickens, ducks, pigs, cows, horses, and an extremely dog named Sarah. The teepee is secluded off to the side near the pond with a sitting area around a campfire and a gas grill. The inside of the teepee has rugs, a couch, and a table as well as a couple lanterns. Our hosts were very welcoming and made sure we were taken care of. Three of us fit comfortably with room for more. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a getaway.

Pros: The family communicated with us well and were kind and happy to let us observe and help with the animals. My kids enjoyed collecting eggs and watching the pigs eat. They also liked watching the local wild birds (we saw orioles, house finches, blackbirds, and turkeys) and looking at the fish in the pond. The fire pit area is level, shaded, and a very pleasant place to be. Both the fire pit area and the teepee had tables, nice for setting things down. Reasons I wouldn't recommend this place to everyone: If you are in a wheelchair, I think you could quite comfortably set up a tent on a nice level spot. To get into the teepee, I'm not sure the door/flap lifts up high enough for access while seated in a chair. Also, the toilet area has a step up (maybe 4-6") which may be an issue for someone in a chair.
Bottom line from my kids: My 10-year-old claimed that this place was 5 star during the day and 4-star at night (he was a little creeped out by the fact that the teepee has openings that let insects come in). We woke up without even a mosquito bite, although we did hear a few.
Recommendations: bring a comfy sleeping pad/air mattress, sleeping bag and pillow, as well as towels if you'd like to use the shower. Binoculars if you enjoy bird watching! It was a very memorable trip for us.
