Percentage of your stay will go to families affected by AUTISM. Closest private campsite to South entrance of Joshua Tree National Park. Chiriaco Summit exit has bathrooms, water, food. Recommend stoping in Indio, CA. Which is 30 min down the mountain. Guests are finding ice and firewood hard to come by at the gas station. Land is very private, surrounded by hills. We are at approximately 2,000 ft elevation, you can see cool things like satellites flying by at incredible speed! Fun to explore. Sandy areas next to many Jacob Trees (Ocotillos) for natural shade. Designated campsites with fire pits, right off dirt easement road. Have a tipi site and a geodome site to set hammocks and literally look at stars while falling asleep. No moskitoes to worry about! 20 perfect acres to get away from it all. Enjoy the light show as the sun goes down. No light pollution where the Sonora Desert meets the Mojave Desert, making for crystal clear skies. Bring your camera equipment! Dirt easement road about 15 minutes from gas station to property. 4x4 or AWD vehicle only, bumpy in some areas. Fun if you like to drive.

Benjamin’s land is beautiful. Peaceful, raw.. exactly the kind of escape we needed from the city. We got lucky and there were not any other campers in the other lot so we had the place to ourselves. We hiked around the mountains on the property and just enjoyed the pure serenity of the place. The stars are incredible and worth the trip on their own.
The road is rough and the site can be hard to find initially but completely worth it. Definitely recommend 4x4 vehicles only. Make sure you have everything you need because it’s ~30min drive in and out.
The site is close to the southern entrance of Joshua tree national park but there are not any Joshua trees on the property so don’t go with that expectation.
10/10 recommend overall!! And be sure to LNT.

Thank you so much for your kind words! You are welcome back any time. I've been thinking about changing the name to 'Jacob Tree Camping' in honor of the Ocotillos on the property.

Ben’s land is great! He is working to make it even more inviting by adding a few new features for campers. Currently there are two separate sites with fire pits, both have plenty of room for multiple tents. We happened to book a night when Ben, the owner, was there so both sites were in use. Ben was a considerate neighbor and even brought us some ice when the closest gas station was out! I definitely hope to camp here again, I look forward to the improvements that Ben is planning! Thanks for sharing this great camp!
