Great easy access spot close to the highway for cheap sleeps! Road noise was mild, campsite was very private though if the other spots were filled it may not have been. Super clean bathroom, beautiful jtree landscape and birds birds birds! I greatly enjoyed watching verdins, gnatcatchers, a shrike, and stunning cactus wrens go about their day as if we weren't even there, the parking spot is surrounded by healthy native plants and animals just a few feet away. Weather seemed mild with less wind than nearby areas, nice sunny spot.
Thank you Matt! Your plot of land was simple but definitely delivered. Pulled in, pitched our tent, and fell fast asleep under an almost full moon. The proximity to the park was also super clutch! Made for an ideal early morning drive to the park to get some climbing in!
This place was really cool. It is right in town and close to anything you’d need, yet it is a bit off the beaten path surrounded by happy plants and funky accents. The porta potty was nicely kept and surrounded by earth bags so it felt more private. Walking around to the other sites was like a scavenger hunt, as we noticed all the little bits of character added for extra charm. Will definitely return next time we visit Joshua Tree.
Beatifully arranged camping site, I was pleasantly surprised. Good distance from road and low noise level, as the other reviewers mentioned. The site feels surprisingly isolated and in the middle of the desert despite being close to the city of Joshua Tree, and the city's lights do not take away from the night sky.
