This site is very simple and undeveloped. It’s a field of trees by the side of the road. The only traffic on the road are military vehicles, so it’s relatively quiet. It’s got a fantastic sunset and beautiful Mountain Views. The site has plenty of shade although it was very hot during the day. It’s a great place to shelter for the night with a rural agricultural feel, cows nearby, farm implements around. There’s a great bbq grill with raising lowering grill and scrub brushes,
Fun under the stars
These campsites are awesome, very secluded and private, the night time is amazing
So many stars!!
We camped here so we can drive up to Pinnacles National Park which was only an hour and 20mins to get to the east side entrance.
Would definitely recommend and even come back.
This place was great. We set up our tent underneath a group of trees, which provided much needed shade - it’s hot and dry in these parts! There are some play things for kids and our spot had a bathtub you could stand in for a quick rinse off under the hose. The drive from here to Big Sur is a real treat.
This is a great campsite about 20min outside of Paso Robles. I've stayed here twice and had it all to ourself both times. The Campsite 6 is located next to a small pond, with running water, gas grill, lots of shade and a fully stocked fire pit. We rolled in late both times, and it was easy to find. There are a lot of little amenities for small kids, including a small swing set, a zip line (for real) and some short and flat walks directly out from our campsite. Overall, great little site and would happily stay again if we're passing through. Such a beautiful area.
We booked for one night on our way home from the Oregon coast. It was our first time boondocking so this was perfect for us. It’s beauty is partly due to the undeveloped property and sleeping among oak trees. We highly recommend for trailers and RV’s. Porta potty style bathrooms and hand washing stations. The pond was dry but we just enjoyed nature and even watched a horned owl for a bit. Picnic tables, grill and water hook up at each site.
Plenty of firewood but bring your young living insect repellent, the mosquitos were fierce.
The sunset was breathtaking and we witnessed a magical moon set. Check out the free wine tasting at Marins vineyard wine tasting room. That was a nice added treat. We also took the road into Big Sur, about an hour away for breakfast.
We had a great stay with Cody! Beautiful private location, great star gazing, quiet. One hour to the beach and less to major towns like Paso Robles. Our kids felt free to roam and we didn't feel worried. Great experience!
