Shortly after moving to Anderson Valley (Northern California) from Santa Monica (Southern California), my future husband, Bill Taylor, and I were on a quest to find the perfect place for us to live in peace and harmony with nature, grow our own food, and support the next generation of farmers in this country. We both believe strongly that when your country has a wealth of farmers, and can support its food needs, everyone thrives. And a country that can grow its own food - is rich. We found our place in February 2012. This is Floodgate Farm.
I am an artist and part time farmer and my husband is a full time organic farmer and composer. We both cohost a monthly radio show about farming and gardening. We are known in the farmers markets for our 50 + ingredient salad mix of edible flowers, herbs and greens.
If you allow me to be your guest you will find me a tidy individual, respectful of your space and very grateful for your hospitality. If you decide to come visit us on our farm, you will find fresh air, good food, and great hiking trails! And lots of hospitality!
5 things I love: Kind and intelligent people, fresh organic food, high ph water, great art & art museums, beautiful country, sea and cities.
