We will be back and can't wait
This place is amazing and Steve was a great host! He made sure we had everything, gave us our privacy, and responded when we needed him. We walked down the road to a little trail and had the dunes to ourselves and the memory of a lifetime. Super quiet at night other than the sound of the ocean in the distance. No complaints. We parked our 21' rv trailer on the grass and had more than enough space to play frisbee with our doggie. Great people and great location. We will be regulars! Thanks guys!
Wonderful host, kid/pet friendly!
Steve was such an incredibly gracious host, quickly responded to questions and was just an absolute pleasure. Upon hearing we had kids he asked their ages, and then when we pulled up to the camp site he had not only provided us with wood, coals, lighter fluid, water bottles and a lighter, he had also gotten my kids balloons and bubbles!! So thoughtful!! The beach is an 8 minute drive, but down the street are gorgeous sand dunes. In the morning he checked in on us and even provided juice! Honestly we just had so much fun, we felt safe, the bathroom was clean, he provided guests with coffee, cooking utensils and whatever you could possibly need. Honestly we loved it so much we are already booking our next weekend!! We love Steve and the site!
Great time at inglenook retreat!
What a wonderful experience staying at Inglenook Retreat! Our host, Steve, made us fee right at home. Each campsite is equipped with a table, umbrella, and fire pit making our camping experience top notch. There is a guest lounge with a shower, fridge, and all cooking necessities you may need. We highly recommend staying at this location! Steve was so kind and hospitable! He even shared some homemade cake with us on our last day and gave us some beautiful stater succulent plants. We will be back!
Real camping experience made easy
Great last minute alternative to fully booked state parks! Nice location with easy access to the beautiful dunes. Clean and spacious campsite with a fire site and nicely prepared picknick table. Amenities (shower, toilet, wifi) were not expected but pleasant for our stay. Steve was a very welcoming, caring and helpful host. It was a pleasure for us to be his guests!
We had a blast and organisation was so easy, we would love to come back!
We had a great stay at the Mendocino Coast Sand Dunes. Steve was very friendly and helpful. We had the camping spot to ourselves, which included two fire pits (one with a grill), a nice picnic table, a lot of flat grassy ground for pitching a tent, and a couple trees that would have been great for a hammock. The property is clean and quiet and would also be great for a group. Steve set up a little coffee station with plates and utensils in the nearby indoor unit. There was also an indoor bathroom available.
We walked from the property to the beach via the sand dunes. It made for a really beautiful and manageable walk and we ended up having the beach all to ourselves. It got a little foggy in the early evening but later on our campsite was the perfect spot to soak up the stars.
Two thumbs way up!
Wow! Steve went above and beyond for us during our weekend stay! What started off as a last minute tent camping trip turned more into a glamping experience! Steve accommodated our late night arrival by texting with us along the way and letting us know that there were snacks, water, firewood, soda and a shower (with hot water) waiting for us! The following day he dropped off a horseshoes game and provided our site with firewood. There are multiple tent sites available and we shared a common space (where the bathrooms and breakfast area are) with those staying in rooms inside of the property. We will definitely come back to Steve’s property in the future! Two thumbs way up!
Great host, safe site, love the dun
Steve was super welcoming and very helpful during our stay. There was a power outage (i.e. no gas!) and Steve let us stay as long as needed until we could get back on the road. Very comfy spot there on his land. Loved walking out to the dunes. Thanks Steve!
Fabulous host, great value
Steve is a fabulous and gracious host! We stayed over (a cold) Thanksgiving and Steve went above and beyond in multiple ways: We booked a camping spot out back but Steve allowed us to use one of his indoor rooms to sleep for warmth (with space heater) and associated common space. He made us plates of Thanksgiving food. He hooked us up with extra firewood. He was very responsive and gave us tips on places to go and see. The sand dunes at the end of the road are gorgeous! You can walk from there to the beach if you don't mind a bit of a hike.
Steve's place is rustic and a work in progress but everything was clean and worked well. The hot water in the shower was great. Steve is an interesting and fun guy to talk to - he's had some adventures and the property has had multiple lives serving people in various ways. Great place to stay/camp!
