3 acres hosted by Daniel S.
My Zen is how I describe it to my friends. Located just 45 minutes from San Diego, my piece of mind. This 120 sf cabin with a 60 sf loft is more than I need to relax. The 200 square foot deck ensures that you are able to spend time both outside and inside. Solar panels keep the lights on and the refrigerator cold. No wifi, but good phone reception. Property abuts the national forest with a trail that is 50 feet from the cabin. There is a exterior kitchen, propane stove and port-a-potty.
From the moment I stepped onto the property and saw the view, the boulders/rocks, the connection with nature was almost immediate. Do I enjoy the simple things in life that nature provides to us on a ever changing basis? yes I do. My cabin is on an area of my property that receives many of natures gifts. A cool breeze starts about 9/10 in the morning and continues all day sometimes. You can watch up to a dozen California Condors ride the wind currents like surfers on a great wave, occasionally sweeping within feet of you on the deck. Then there are the clouds, I take photos, but it is truly hard to capture the beauty in these monsters that come and eat the valleys and try to come up the mountain, only to have the sunshine chase them away. The sunrise and sunset always stop me in my tracks, photo ops are almost guaranteed. And when the sun hits the clouds at dusk, the entire valley turns a breathtaking gold color. I've only got to see it once, but it was incredible. Next comes night, whether there are a million stars or three you are in for a show. Truly seeing the night without ambient light is an experience unto itself.
Whether you are a avid hiker or a weekend warrior, my cabin is where you will enjoy ending your day. Feeling like you are truly camping, with a few extras like water and electricity, make for a great time. For the hiker, step out of the cabin, walk fifty feet and begin your hike. Hiking up the mountain will take you to the quartz fields, peak and the whistling rocks. For my less ambitious guests, let me make you reservations for a private tasting at the Rock Canyon Winery, then rent some horses and take the trails in style.
Just a short drive for the fisherman is Loveland Reservoir, be sure to have your license current, or just walking the banks can be breathless.
For the more experienced hiker there is Horse thief Canyon where the creek runs during certain times of the year.
For the least physically active, I have a rocking chair, view and good neighbors that will make your stay one that you will not want to end.
Drink a beer, wine or tea, the view is all you will need. Maybe a good book, as the silence is exactly what you want to transport you into the authors world.
