The vibe at Hobbit Cobin
Places to see near Hobbit Cobin
I had a wonderful stay here at the Hobbit Cobin with my boyfriend for a quiet weekend stay-cation. The city of Petaluma was a wonderful escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. Coming to the Hobbit Cobin, we did not know what to expect, but upon arriving, we realized how cozy and warm the site was. We got an amazing and informative tour of the property from Miguel (which included tons of farm animals - chickens and goats!) and last but not least, the hobbit cobin. We learned so much about how sustainable housing really works and how it can be such an effective way to build shelters in such a creative way. The site makes great use of the environment and the resources has to offer (firewood stoves for heating, the earth to help build the structures, etc.)
Besides the amazing lodgings, the city of Petaluma is a really great place to explore. The downtown is filled with quaint shops and great restaurants. Lagunitas brewing is also in the area. Definitely find time to explore the small city and grab a quick bite.
Over all, the campground "Hobit Cobin" and the city of Petaluma made us feel right at home. So at home that we left with lots of smiles and and a half dozen of fresh organic eggs! Until next time, Hobit Cobin!

My visit to the Hobbit Cobin...
It's an easy drive into Petaluma and the Cobin is conveniently nestled on the outskirts of town. Close to Laugunitas (15min drive) and a skip to town (20min walk 5mindrive).
The Cobin is fenced in on the property (charlie, my dog, loved being able to walk around) with an eco lavatory (shower & sink), a kitchenette (propane stove, refrigerator, sink & even a kettle) and quaint table and chairs under a ripe plum tree (w/small garden lights in twined throughout the branches) - it's a glamping b&b.
I would recommend the Hobbit Cobin for those exploring Petaluma...it truly is a unique experience.

This is the coolest place we've ever been. The sauna was perfect, the bed was so comfy, and the whole cob experience was just magical. We had a perfect night and can't wait to come back again.
What a fun place! Surprisingly close to town. We officially love Petaluma now and Hobbit cobin especially. Bruce, Frances and Miguel we're all charming and very helpful. I hope to visit again soon!
Wonderful experience, the city of Petaluma was filled with fabulous architecture, delicious food, museums, and was only a 20 minute walk. Our hosts were gracious and friendly, very easy to approach with any questions or recommendations for Town. The unique beauty of the cobin was a joyful experience in itself; the sunshine in the windows in the morning, the skylight during the day, led lighting at night. The patio was perfect for enjoying a quiet coffee and taking in the beautiful trees and foliage.
This place is super cozy as you would expect from a hobbit cobin!! The bed was very comfortable and the sauna was awesome. The kitchenette was sufficient and even though it was a wet, cool day, we stayed nice and warm with the heater and blankets.
The Hobbit Cabin is super cool and in a great location. We checked in ~3:30pm and that gave us some time to hang out on the patio and read/nap before heading out on the 17min drive to Lagunitas Brewery for a tour, Thai River for dinner, and walking around downtown after. We used the propane stove in the AM to heat up leftovers for breakfast, make coffee, and take off for a hike at Mt Tam. The Cobin is cozy, charming, and comfortable. Miguel and his father Bruce are great hosts that are very responsive, too!
The Hobbit Cobin is a great place to stay! I stayed overnight with my 10-year old son. He loved it and thinks all houses should be made of cob. We walked into town for ice cream and a movie and stopped so he could play in the park along the way. Our hosts were super friendly and gave us plenty of privacy. Next time we will stay longer and try out the cob sauna. Thanks Miguel for making such a delightful and soothing place.
We love it!
