We are an off-grid, solar-powered, 25 acre lakeside venue and permaculture-inspired lifestyle rich collaborative.

Heartland exists where the wilderness of off-grid life meets an artistic collective that sings possibility to the fringe dwellers of the Regenerative Eco-Village movement. Heartland offers people a break from the craziness of what so many call "life" and a view of what can be co-created with each other for each other. As in permaculture, the Heartland model is about doing more with less, it's about allowing our individual and diverse natural Flow states to merge forging new pathways of co-creation that are the true answer to our collective purpose.

We invite teams & individuals to come to build through our Heartlander work trade program or join retreats or workshops focused on one of our 4 Heartland Pillars; OuterWork, InnerWork, Transformation, or Celebration.

We hold creativity, innovation, connection, and shared leadership as core building blocks of our vision. Our private membership based organization offers various levels of engagement.

You've been called here, and we invite you to explore our tracks.

I really packed too much. They have a nice mattress for you and bedding. No interior lighting though ao bring a lamp. They had all the kitchen supplies you need, bathrooms and showers were excellent. Anders and his mom were excellent hosts, extremely nice and enjoyed their company and conversations. The sunsets are out of this world. There is lake access so bring kayaks if you have them. Trails for hiking and mountain biking. Got serenaded by coyotes at night too haha.

Gorgeous location by the lake. My family and I had one of the spots on the platforms which were great for being off the ground and close to the facilities. The other tents closed to the water offered more privacy and secluded views if you’d prefer. There are large oaks on the property that off shade and plenty of distance between tents. The interiors were clean and comfortable.
The lake was a highlight for us. We rented the SUP board and had a blast. It would be great if there kayaks too. I think they could offer more from an activities rental standpoint. All in all a great spot and the hosts were fantastic and responsive. Go before it gets too popular.

Very pleasant. Nice tents. The staff were very friendly. The kitchen is very basic but functional. The warm evenings were beautiful but consider bringing a shade structure for the middle of the day. Swimming in the lake was lovely! The bird life was exceptional! We saw a bald eagle flying right above our heads when we first arrived. The coyotes in the middle of the night serenaded us with their ecstatic songs!

Shama and Anders greeted us and were very nice, showed us around and made sure we were comfortable! They have made a very nice space to relax and chill, great to have the water so close.

Tents were high quality and clean. Love the raised platform ours was built on.

We had a beautiful stay! It was hot hot hot - but between the outdoor shower and the lake, we had a fantastic stay. The area is really incredible with lot of things to explore. The sunset was also jaw dropping. The tent was wonderful. The mattress is a bit on the harder side (futon on the floor), so come prepared for that. Also, Tent #1 is close to tent #2 - some of the other tents are more secluded from other campers. We made friends with our neighbors the first night, which was fun. Be sure to bring your own ice if you need it since the closest store is a ways away - they are working on building out their kitchen currently. The currently outdoor communal kitchen was great to use even during COVID. We also rented a SUP for half a day and had a great time. The folks we encountered were really lovely and friendly. LGBTQI+ friendly in our experience! A true gem!

The site was clean and well kept. The toilets and showers were really nice, as well as the kitchen and the tent. This is a personal preference, but I wish things were not as spread out, and it was kind of a far walk to the lake especially when it's 97 degrees out. This might be a nicer stay in the fall or early summer, but early August was super hot and not much could be done about it. It would also be nice to have a freezer or ice machine on-site.
