Shabby chic cottage in the wood
The cottage was cozy and warm, I felt at home right away. It is just the perfect distance close/far from town (Eureka/Arcata) allowing for easy access while also feeling the privacy of the more wild/rural aspects of the area.

Shabby chic cottage in the wood
The cottage was cozy, private, comfortable, and in as beautiful a location as I could have dreamed. Beds were very comfortable and with linens provided it made for such a convenient and homey place to stay during my time in the Eureka/Arcata area. (The tub alone is worth noting — an old fashioned tub, great for a bath or shower.) Lisa was a welcoming host and very friendly. The location itself couldn’t be better— close to town and many beautiful natural spots yet so quiet and peaceful. I would highly recommend this little cottage!

Shabby chic cottage in the wood
Inside the cottage was perfect. Comfy beds. Dishes for cooking and eating. And we even had some freshly dug-up potatoes from their garden! It was private with a nice fence to seperate the houses, and still open- enough that you could see the family garden plot, and beautiful purple home.
We loved this cabin. We walked behind the sweet blue cottage to see an awesome fire pit, and so many blackberries ripe for the picking. Just a short walk up the hill and you have redwoods to explore!

Shabby chic cottage in the wood
We found the cottage easily, in a perfect location 15 minutes from Eureka but feels totally in the countryside.
We met Lisa and she took us to the sweet cottage, so cozy and surrounded with green view :)
Lisa offered us extra blankets which we gladly took, the kitchen was small but nicely equipped and the adolescent gladly hoped to the upper bed and didn’t want to leave.
In the morning we had a wonderful self made breakfast on the outside porch overlooking the beautiful yard. Would definitely recommend coming here, it’s charming and so is Lisa the host :)

Shabby chic cottage in the wood
There were a few miscommunications upon arrival, but all was sorted out quickly. The cabin was adorable. Very clean and ready for our stay. The kitchen was just the right size. Our dog had a blast with the Covy and Libby doggies on site. My dog was worn out! My little girl had a great time as did we. The host and her family was warm and lovely. My only complaint was that there was no warm water for showers or baths. It was lukewarm at best. We even tried waiting a day and it was still cold in the morning. A bit dissapoiting when you’ve been camping a few days already and looking forward to a pit stop with a shower. But, otherwise, we’d totally stay here again.
