Our little spot by the barn was very quaint, private, and close to the parking area. We were right next to the water flowing so waking up to birds, stream, and shaded forest area was amazing! The neighborhood itself is spread out, quiet, close to Scotts Flat Lake and about 30 minutes to South Yuba River, and only a few minutes drive into town for cafes, groceries, supplies etc. Josh was very responsive, welcoming, and accommodating which made our short trip as pleasant as possible. Check in and Check out were super easy. This spot does not allow campfires though so be prepare to bring your own grill! We had a great time, thanks for everything Josh!

Hey Christina! Thanks so much for your stay, we’ve made some changes to the site and now allow folks to rent a fire pit at the site and have a grill available as well.

Josh was very communicative in booking the reservation. The site was well-maintained and a bit away from the main house and other sites. There was a grill, lighter, table and chair set-up, hose, and even an electrical outlet. Porta potty was a short walk up the property and also well-maintained. Would highly recommend for anyone looking for a commuter site.

we’re very grateful for the instant booking. josh accepted us literally 5 minutes after booking the site. he greeted us, showed us his beautiful wooded property and we chatted a bit about the concept of HOME. the space is very peaceful with the sound of rushing water all night. the restroom (portapotty) was brand new, so it was obviously super clean. there were a couple other campers that night, but all sites are distanced on opposite sides of the property so we didn’t hear anything — except the river flowing through our site. this was the commuter site, so he has electricity, wifi, and a table to work. we appreciate Hipcamps where the host considers the camper. josh clearly made three unique spaces for campers to enjoy different experiences. there are also multiple structures on the property, we assume they are cabins to rent for vacationers or permanent. as we were touring the property, a deer greeted us about twenty feet away. it was pretty awesome. we were also visited by a bear at night. it wrestled with our cooler but didn’t get in it. it’s a newly purchased Lifetime brand cooler that claims to be bear-proof. needless to say, it passed the test. all in all, this place is a gem nestled in the woods of nevada city.
