Come stay in our 12 foot tipi!  Just a 2 hr drive from LA, this 60+ acre hidden gem is an excellent place for stargazing at 2500 ft. The valley is known for being a harmonic vortex. It has a unique mountain range and the Cuyama River flows north to the ocean. Meditate at the medicine wheel on the property, taste honey and gourmet garlic from on the property.

The valley has plenty of places to go hiking, and 40 acres of off leash dog access.  There are olive orchards, vineyards, pistachio farms, a catch and release pond and a 300 yard golf driving range nearby. We have stables for those of you who have horses. A few miles away is The Bitteroot Condor Sanctuary and off road trails.  The California Condor, the eagle, the owl, the hawk and a rare leopard lizard lives in this area.

At the top of the property you can visit with our free ranch chickens or check out the painted desert sheep family and the ostrich. Our ranch dogs are very friendly and love to welcome new campers.

We offer cold plunge tubs for hot summer days.  You have access to a fire ring (season permitting) and a BBQ.

THE RULES:  PLEASE INFORM US IF YOU ARE BRINGING A DOG... they are welcome, however we must know if you're bringing one.  No aggressive dogs and they need to have updated medical records.  Please no fireworks, guns or fires allowed during the summer season.

Forget anything? We have sleeping bags, air mattresses and blankets available for a small laundry fee. Single burner camp stove and a basket of cooking utensils is available for a small butane and clean up fee.   We have a butane space heater you can rent for cold winter nights.

There aren't flushable toilets yet and the shower is cold and open, but other than that we enjoyed our time at Dakota Tipi Village. It is in a very isolated area - the closest town is Taft, which allows for stunning night skies. It is surrounded by mountains that turn pink during the golden hour. We brought a couple of butane camping stoves and used the on-site propane BBQ to cook all our food. The tipis can get cold at night since there are openings in them, so bring warm clothing to sleep in and blankets/sleeping bags! In most of the tipis you would sleep on the ground. All in all it was a dreamy stay!

Pretty fun trip even though we only stayed for one night. Thomas was very sweet, and we love his dogs. Stars were beautiful at night, and the entire experience felt like a spiritual awakening. Will definitely be back.

A fantastic site with a lot to offer. TP camping was a blast. Come for the sun and the stars. The boat docked on land was a highlight!

Great site! We arrived in the afternoon. All communication between us & the host was clear. We arrived mid-afternoon in mid-July, so it was a little hot, but nothing severe--and it seemed milder than July Vegas weather! We had a great say!

Thank you. Our guest were great. We wanted to recommend they stay on the coast until 6 pm then venture out when the temp is cooler in time to see an awesome sunset and sky feel up with stars.. They arrived a little early but were use to vegas temps. All went well. Thank you again. Look forward to continued visits.

Great place for relaxing and seeing the ski at sunset and the start, we got to see the comet while there. Great place to get away from the noise.

Vincent’s tipi is a cool and unique place to stay. We brought our own sleeping bags and slept on the ground in the spacious tipi. If you’re visiting in winter, I’d suggest watching the weather and packing accordingly. We underestimated how cold it would be and did not bring enough blankets. That being said, Vincent had a fire started for us when we arrived that we were able to maintain to stay warm while awake. Overall a fun stay that I’d recommend for any camper who wants to try something different!
