Happy Camper in Kern Valley
What a fun little spot! We truly enjoyed our stay on Jessica's property. Jessica was a spectacular host full of valuable information about things to do and places to see in the area. It was really hot during our visit and we were traveling with young kids, so getting to the best spots of the river and lake to cool off was key and Jessica knew just where to guide us. She had cold beer waiting upon arrival and checked in during the visit to be sure all was well. When a surprise wind/rain storm came upon our camp while we were out exploring for the day (we had a tent set up in addition to staying in the trailer), Jessica made sure to help secure our tent so it didn't blow away! She has a cute little teepee tent set up for the toilet for extra privacy and has everything you could need to cook your meals on site. With a little fridge in the trailer - it felt like the perfect glamping location. The kids loved running around the yard, swinging in the hammock, and a little batting practice with the whiffle ball. The location was perfect, with quick and easy access to Lake Isabella and Kernville and the day use spots of the river along 178. My sister and I are so thankful to have found such a perfect place to meet up (I'm in Santa Cruz and she's in LA) and explore nature with our kiddos. Thank you Jessica!!

High suggest bringing some sort of canopy as shade is limited. And I highly suggest bringing some sort of floatation device for the river!

Happy Camper in Kern Valley
First, Jessica is a great host. Fast to respond and is so knowledgeable of the area that she can tell you all the cool things to do and places to see. The Camper is located right behind her house. The spot itself isn't the most picturesque but the camper is really cute. This is the perfect choice to stay at if you want to be outdoors but not necessarily sleep in a tent. Another huge bonus is that Jessica has provided everything that you need for cooking. There's a mini fridge in the camper and a great outdoor kitchen set up with a sink, drinking water, cooking stoves, and even cooking ware. There's also an outdoor shower and compost toilet. Literally all you'd need to bring is yourself and food! The location is also perfect for water adventurists as it is middle to both the Kern River and Lake Isabella - each less than 5 minutes away. It does get very warm out there (there is no ac in the camper, just a fan and it does get hot inside) so hanging out by the water during the day and coming back to the camper in the evening in time for the night stars is the perfect outdoor getaway.
