Golden Rocks Permaculture Farm Campsite #5 ~ Tree Swing Campsite

Our campground overlooks a beautiful valley and the Berriessa Ridge Mountains..  There are camping decks as well as cushy camping spots directly on the ground for those who want to "ground."  The campground has stunning views towards the east—mountains with a sweeping valley view in the foreground from pretty much every camping spot.  Outrageously great sunrises and sunsets, as well as moonrises!  Great place to watch meteor showers!!

The outdoor community kitchen and fire ring is available for use, complete with refrigeration, triple sink with running water and plenty of dishes to use.  Outdoor shower with hot water and great pressure, as well as an outdoor claw-foot bath tub in the woods, clean well water with NO CHEMICALS ADDED!  Lovely if you are used to city water with chlorine.

Community Farmhouse has access from 8am to 9pm for wifi, showers and bath, reading library, and just hanging out by the fireplace or swamp cooler.  Generally there are guests and volunteers year-round, which makes for interesting visits since these folks come from all over the US and abroad.

This is a working permaculture farm and you will encounter chickens, beautiful gardens, and interesting projects in progress, including several sculpted cob structures and a small pallet house made from award-winning design plans, and coated with gorgeous earthen plaster over cob.

Brenda was on top of communication which I appreciated. Fresh eggs for sale which we bought. So delicious. Over the next couple days. Was cool to observe people doing work on the property. It was inspiring to see what she’s built and continues to build over the past 10 years.

The experience at Brenda's Co-op was a lovely respite from the fray of the city. To stay, there were a couple of platforms for tents in a rocky field. Each of us staked our claim and pretty much stayed where we were for the weekend.

Available facilities included an outdoor common kitchen with a camping stove and sink, an outdoor shower and tub, and some veggies for sale from the garden.

The land was fairly basic but we made do. Would recommend for a near full-camping experience.

We had a nice time camping at Brenda’s place. The directions could have been more clear and it took us a while to find the place at night, but the farm offered a platform to set our tent up on, good mountain views, a kitchen and fire pit (we enjoyed a really nice fire our second night there), and even farm fresh eggs. Pretty rustic but overall a great place to camp and would definitely recommend!

Solid place to stay. It was a hot weekend so I didn't spend much time at the farm, but if you're good with farm sounds (horses, chickens, etc) at night I'd recommend!

Golden Rocks Permaculture Farm was a beautiful, quiet weekend escape. Brenda was a lovely and knowledgeable host who gave us a rundown of things to do in the area, and the other staff were incredibly kind and welcome. Buddy the dog was a great addition too. As it was my first experience camping and we were slightly underprepared, the amenities like the kitchen, outhouse, and shower were greatly appreciated. Also highly recommend purchasing some farm fresh eggs — they were delicious!

We loved our stay at the farm! We came on a hot weekend where temperatures neared 100 degrees, and were thankful to be at the tree swing site (#5) which is underneath a huge oak tree. This site is also nearest to the one toilet, which can be viewed both positively or negatively.

The communal kitchen was well-stocked, and easy to use while remaining socially distant. During our stay, camping stoves were not allowed to be used at our site due to risk of wildfire.

We loved the shade at site #5Kids loved the swing and tree climbing

We really enjoyed our time at Golden Rocks - the tree swing site is the best! As others have noted, the sites are close together and not private, but Brenda creates an environment of respect and safety (per COVID). Directions were good up until the last step. There's no Golden Rocks sign at the gate - look for "COB" instead. Also, there was no way to call about the dog, though we had no trouble with him (and we are not dog people).

Wonderful site, not super super private but as private as you could need. The bath is wonderful, but some rose petals from Brenda and grab a nice bottle of wine and treat yourself to the perfect sunset. Gets a little hot in the morning this time a year so an early rest is a good idea. Brenda took extra care to social distance and ensure all guest and farm workers were which is extremely appreciated during Covid times. Couldn’t recommend this place highly enough, we will definitely be back. Additionally, cooking some farm eggs as the sun rises through the outdoor kitchen is such a wonderful experience, be sure to load up while you’re here.

Brenda is a lovely host. The facilities are not exactly what I am used to when using Hipcamp sites.
