About Green Valley Lake: In the late 1800s the area was used for lumber until the early 1900s when there were efforts to create a “resort town” halfway to Big Bear. In 1926 the dam was finished and the lake was created. The Homestead Cabin was created the same year and is now available for visitors to the hidden gem known as Green Valley Lake. In summer months the lake rents rowboats, pedal boats, kayaks, and offers fishing passes for the well-stocked lake. There is also a swim beach with lifeguards. There are also lots of well-maintained trails in the area. Our favorites are the community trail and the hike to Little Green Valley where you might find the old foundation of a YMCA camp.

In the winter visitors can find lots of great sledding hills, and Snow Valley Mountain Resort is just 5 miles away for great skiing. We are also conveniently located exactly halfway between Lake Arrowhead and Big Bear so you can use the cabin as a base camp for adventure across the San Bernardino Mountains. Fresh air is waiting for your next family vacation! Welcome to the Homestead Cabin.
