Made of plywood and situated in the most beautiful areas.  They are simply made. No frills! Just a place to crawl into and stay on a hard floor with a roof over your head, and windows, that can fit two, depending on how much you had to eat that night, with room for a small tent Just out side the front door. You will love the Birdhouse! Its a magical miracle place to stay. Having the Bird Houses available when all the other accommodations are full is a great treat for those wanting to do a simply stay at Garth's  Boulder Gardens.  Come be with the community that runs and cares for Garth. Coffee in the tepee every day at 630 am made by Garth and friends. Meditate in the amazing boulder gardens, up against an ancient Pinion pine tree. So much to do, or not. Take a dry sauna and cold dip in the cement pond. Go for hikes around the 640 acres. I could go on and on, instead  come find out for yourself how amazing it really is!

Kyle was extremely welcoming, he made me feel comfortable and at home instantly. I hope to come back because there are so many things to see that I felt I only scratched the surface. One of the most beautiful and unique places I have ever visited. Garth's helped remind me of what is important in life. Please come visit here and make sure to have a hot cup of coffee in the morning.

Kyle was a superb host who was welcoming, spirited and an amazing pianist. Garth and the rest of the lands crew were friendly with overflowing personality and joy. The birdhouse site was perfect. We opted to pitch a tent right in front of it with an open roof to take in all the stars at night. There was an amazing HUGE rock platform that our 6 year old insisted was our balcony that we at our meals on and she talked to neighboring folks from. This site is very close to the community kitchen and living room so if you want absolute privacy or more quiet another spot on the property might be better. We have a very social little girl who loved to have conversation with any passers-by from our "balcony." We were also treated with live music being played throughout the day.

Now for the ambiance of the whole property... WOW! No words do it justice. You're in the middle of the desert with massive rock formations, caves with hidden delights, great hiking (our 6 year old was able to manage all), koi and turtle pond, and tons of whimsical displays throughout the land. Oh, and a very sweet guy (forgot his name, sorry) who often has his pet peacock, named Indigo, on his shoulder and was gracious enough to let my daughter pet him. Chickens and roosters too! We are so grateful to Garth and his family of friends on the land to share their home with us as we searched for a little solace and quality family time out of suburbia.

Kyle made are stay absolutely amazing as well as Garth and the rest of the community were so nice and accommodating. We stayed in the bird house next to the kitchen and pool. We had a little mistep with a spider in the bird house, so we stayed in our tent. We loved all of it. I would say the pool and the beautiful scenery will have to take the cake for being the best parts of the trip. I would recommend this place to everyone who wants to get away and enjoy a zen, tranquil camping trip. Straight beautiful!!

Garth’s place is beautiful! You are surrounded by gorgeous rock formations and Joshua Trees. We were there on a full moon and it was absolutely breathtaking.

Kyle is nice and he is there to guide and direct you as to where to go. We briefly met everyone living on the property and they were really nice too.

There is a communal area but we made our own food so we didn’t spend too much time over there.

My only complaints were that our campsite was not totally private and we had neighbors that set up steps away from where we were. It was fine though because they were cool.

The only other thing was that the “pond” was half empty and looked as if it had not been cleaned. We were told by Kyle that the water truck was coming to fill it up. The truck came and the pond was not filled up during our stay. Slightly disappointed as we were really looking forward to having some water to dip into.

Otherwise it was great.

Someone told me about this place and I went solo. The hosts are awesome. Super chill & friendly. I liked the birdhouse concept. Had a problem with ants though. It's like, literally a birdhouse with enough room for one person to fit.

There is no cell reception so you can really disconnect. There is a lot to explore hiking wise; there doesn't seem to be any bounds. I went intentionally during a full moon which lit up the desert area nicely and made for good night hiking.

Camping spots are pretty spaced out. I barely saw people during my stay. I did see lots of quail, jack rabbits, birds, and something that I had no idea what it was. I left some of my crystals out in the sunlight, went for a hike, and returned to find a couple missing. No idea what creature would have any interest in them. My piece of labradorite was knocked off and I think too heavy for the creature to carry and in place of my moonstone was a random rock. No sign of my tiger's eye.

I would definitely go back during cooler climate. It was pretty hot when I went though they have a cold pool you can dip into.

The entire time I felt completely safe. I think it would be a cool place to experience with people you like.

A sword in a stone. I think it's a real sword. It has some weight to it. I was strong enough to pull it out but I have no dragons to slay so I returned it.Datura, wild flowers native to the area, manage to find water to bloom adding life to the statuesque scenery. My first morning I awakened with excitement to hike out a bit to catch the sunrise far off into the distance. Hopping around on boulders, I discovered this spot, meditated, and shot some photos with my iPhone.Sun setting far to the west, coloring the sky many different hues as the darkness slowly crept in to blanket the desert.
