The vibe at Artsy Cabin + Tent Site
If you stayed here and have some insider info for us, let us know!
This was a perfect quiet getaway for me and my girlfriend.
The property is beautiful - chickens, hills, a view of the sierras, and a family of deer drinking from the stream in front of our tent. Also, the campsite is only a short walk from the car and full bathroom (but still very, very private).
Susan was also a great host - she was very communicative, invited us to dinner, and even gave us some fresh appetizers from the farm when we arrived.
It's the foothills so bring some bug spray, but also be sure to turn of all your camp lights at some point during the night - the stars here are incredible.
Not only is Susan a great host, she is a great chef! I arrived later than expected and was greeted with a homemade blueberry tart and organic tea. Their site is a nice getaway from the busyness of the city and nicely tucked away in sight of the Sierras. Their meadow campsite is small and personal but not too far from everything else. When I left, she even packed me a delicious salad and hummus. Truly a great host and beautiful property to camp. Highly recommended.
We stayed at the camping spot for two nights and it was great - a 30 meter walk in to a secluded tent site with a bubbling brook, a meadow and woods. We poked our heads into the cabin and that looked great too. Susan is very nice and we would recommend this place to our friends (which we will!).
Susan was a kind, patient, and compassionate host. I would highly recommend this camp to any camper looking to experience a truly amazing back-to-nature and the roots of simple organic living. Both the cabin and land are gorgeous and peaceful.
Everything that could go wrong did, and we still had a great time. Susan cooked us a delicious dinner and showed my kids around her chicken coop. It's a beautiful setting and a peaceful night under the stars. A few suggestions:
* The main tent site will only take a 4-person tent max, and it's a fairly tight fit to get the tent stakes driven on the pad. I would probably expand that to accommodate a 6-man tent if possible. I would also add a bear box down there to make it easier to dine on site.
* I would flatten the flat zone at the bottom of the dirt driveway to make it easier for cars to turn around.
Otherwise a very nice spot - good for people looking for a rustic getaway combined with good food.
Staying here was an absolute dream! The property is gorgeous, the peace and quite are a perfect escape for anyone needing a break from city life. Susan was so kind and accommodating and went above and beyond to make sure our stay was magical. We can't wait to stay here again and would definitely recommend to anybody. Thank you again Susan!
