The vibe at Free Grazing Land
If you stayed here and have some insider info for us, let us know!
Free Grazing Land is a idyllic property just outside of the Livermore, Dublin, San Ramon area. It's close enough to town that you can still explore downtown Livermore & Pleasanton during the day, but far enough away that you get a real, peaceful, countryside experience.
Greg and his wife were amazing Hosts! They greeted us upon arrival and helped us get settled near the back of the their property were we set up under a large tree. Their amazing organic garden separates you from their RV on the property. (They gracefully shared some green onions and mint—truly farm to table style.)
I would also highly recommend this property as a great place to relax and recharge for road trippers and travelers making their way between the Sierras / Yosemite and San Francisco!
Great location, great spot. A couple of things that threw me off guard, I wasn't aware that I would be sharing this lot with 2 other groups and that the toilet is out in the open for all who want to see you, can see you answering natures call. Even putting a tarp up around it to add some privacy would be good but there is nothing. Cars that are arriving get to see you sitting on your throne as first sight of the site. Great site, just don't plan on using the restroom or showering unless you have no shame with toward that.
This is a beautiful spot tucked away in the Livermore hills! We came in the spring and everything was green and blooming. The camp sits behind Greg and his wife's RV and garden. We tucked our camp under a beautiful, flowering tree for extra shade. Our hosts were so welcoming and even shared some vegetables and herbs from their garden with us. Definitely recommend this lovely camp!
We loved the experience! We were surrounded by beautiful rolling hills and the sunset was gorgeous! It was windy when we came but we were prepared so we didn’t mind it. The property offered many adventures like meeting cows and bulls close enough to know this was their territory, hiking that led to unexpected tour of a real bee/honey farm and using a portable toilet. Greg and his family were so friendly and so easy going.
Note: There is a Strawberry farm 1 mile or 2 away where you could pick strawberries yourself. Our 2 year old daughter enjoyed it, who am I kidding... I enjoyed ever minute of it!
